It's your card, you can ask whatever you want for it. You can ask for a dollar in BV for every yard he gained this year if you want. There's no reason for you to feel bad, and no reason for him to be condescending.

Im not goin to name names, because they know who they are and it would start a war if I did. But i can list at least 5-6 people on hear I dont respect/trust any further that I can throw em

The funny thing is, I don't even have this stupid card yet, and I already hate it. I hate the fact that I'd feel ripped off trading it at $40 book value, just so someone can turn around and sell it for more than that.
If I found a Jag collector that I KNEW would keep it and not sell it off, and they had a nice Packer for me, I'd probably trade it to them.
However, looking at the want list of the person that wanted the Drew, it was obvious that they were a hot player collector, and saw the opportunity to make a buck, or to trade it at sell value.

As for someone who collects him, check bballplayr366 - He collects all UCLA guys, and he asked for Drew cards before the season even started. I think Drew was in his sig when he was still in college. Dunno if he wants/needs it, but if you want a true collecter, he's definitely your guy.

It should be obvious by what I normally trade for here that I'm not going after the hot players. I've never, ever traded for a Bush, Colston, Gore or a Drew, before this one. The member who traded me the Drew was a huge Brewer fan, and since I have boxes and boxes of Brewer stuff, I put together a nice lot to trade him for this Drew and a Sage Drew auto. Now I'm sort of wishing I hadn't made the trade. Now whenever I ask for anything from ANYBODY, they ask about the Jones-Drew in return. GRRR!!! There is no way that there are suddenly 1,000 Drew collectors on this site.

It's the same with other sports. I got a LIriano Letterman Auto, and everyone wants it. Someone asked for it when I asked about a $2.50 Vlad insert from them. It's just a joke sometimes. I understand why people do it, but there's no reason to get an attitude about it.

Craigerman-
It is your card...you do with it as you see fit. I am probably one of the least like type of folks here to get all anal about BV vs SV BUT not even I would have struck that deal. All it takes is a polite no thanks, but thanks for your time and a polite OK, no problem interaction to let it go, but some people won't do it in that fashion.
I must be the opposite of bandwagoners.....
I have ALWAYS wanted to collect Chris Brown autographs BEFORE he even came into the NFL (I watched him when I could at Colorado U). When he came into the league they were a little too pricey for me...when he got hot his cards were way out of my league for me. Rather than go after his stuff and pay crazy prices and try to trade for his stuff I waited until the hype was over....I have now added probably 32 autographs in the last 6 weeks to my collection for a FRACTION of what I would have before. WHEN (not if, but when) he signs on with someone else and breaks out I will probably have to stop collecting again for awhile and let the hype die down once more.
In fairness to team/player collectors...I am sure there are a number of collectors who already collected Jones-Drew before his breakout. Hopefully you will find one of those people to deal the card to and everyone will be happy :)
I'm glad I am probably one of the only Delanie Walker collectors I have seen (aside from 49er collectors). If, by some miracle, he becomes a household name, I am sure I will have already been known to have collected his stuff and I would be seen as a bandwagoner.
Not sure why I felt the need to just write a chapter long post....you know how us women can be long winded ;)~
Good luck whatever you decide to do with the card.
Peace~
Rima

Nice post Rima, I wish there were more collectors in this world like you. Unfortunatly, I fear that there will always be the hot player collectors out there, looking to buy low and sell high. Perhaps I should just stick to my Koren Robinson collection. I think I'm the only person on earth who's collecting him right now.
