A little difference celbration.
Several New England players hurled their helmets into the air and danced on the middle of the field in celebration, incurring a meaningless 15-yard penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct and the wrath of San Diego star rusher Tomlinson.
"I would never, ever react in that way," Tomlinson said. "I'm a very classy person and I would not have reacted like that. I was very upset."
Tomlinson refused to shake hands with several of the Patriots after the game and was restrained when rushing toward several New England players after the game after a mocking imitation of Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman's victory dance.
"When you go to the middle of our field and you start doing the dance that Shawne Merriman is known for, that's disrespectful. It showed no class at all and maybe that comes from their coach," Tomlinson said."I wasn't going to go do anything, just tell the guys not to disrespect us on our own field. When you start to further disrespect us, that's just not how you react."

A double standard? To go and mock another players' dance in the middle of their field and their crowd. I can tell you right now that the Chargers would never do such a classless action in the middle of Gillette. It's all about being a classy team and doing somethimg like that is not classy. As for that hit Merriman had, I am sure with the jawing going on, he did it to send a message. The hit caused Brady to throw a wobbling duck and damn near interception. Go up in flames @Indy Pats!

1 Psitive test makes him a drug head. Get over yourself on that. I said it before and will reiterate it, if Merriman tests clean the rest of his career, no noe will be talking about his "mistake" and thus exonerates him from being compared to Ricky Williams or Bill Romanowski. Call him what you wany now but he will show everyone that he isn't a steroid freak like many ignorant fans think he is.

I do agree with LT and the Chargers on this one. What the Patriots did was totally disrespectful, and embarssing. I know that people are happy when they win, but that should never go as far as disrespecting the opposing team on the field. I don't care what you do or say off the field, it just shows no class like LT said. This just gives me another reason from which to hate the Patriots even more than I already do.

Yep, everything I have read stated the Patriots were classless. They danced on the chargers logo, threw helmets in their air and pointed to the score board. I remember the Chargers beating the Pats 41 to something last year in New England and I don't remember anything like this from the Chargers.
Do we have a new rivalry?

New rivalry? Maybe this will come up the next time they play, but they don't play eachother enough. Maybe once every two years (not including playoffs)?

Alex,
That means they will play next year (if they play every 2 years). I hope it is a Monday night game!
