Football coaches are not like the President. Football coaches are on the same football field that the players, coaches see first hand what the players are doing. I don’t think the president is the most knowledgeable person about the war. The people who are on the ground fighting the war and living their have much more knowledge than the president.
This is simply NOT true. In a strategic sense the President knows MUCH more than the average grunt or officer on the ground EXCEPT the generals. The President is surrounded by hundreds of advisers and has the Pentagon to do analysis and help with the decision makers. The average military guy in Iraq understands his units mission but not the overall strategy of U.S. foreign policy in Iraq and the Middle East. Fighting on the ground is only part of the battle.
The president is getting 2nd hand information from the people that are actually their fighting the war. I don’t think the President is studying the enemy like he should be, he has other people in the government to do this for him
If you understand intelligence you will know the President has first hand and second hand intelligence. He has access to raw data and analysis. You DO NOT want the President to make decisions on first hand knowledge and do want him to rely on experts and he does. That is the Pentagon and the military in Iraq.
Doesn’t president have his staff write his speeches for him? If the President is so knowledgeable about these topics why would someone have to do the thinking and writing for him?
Not 100% true. All politicians have speech writers, but they ALL input and tell the writers what they want to talk about and go through 4 to 5 revisions. In many cases they write their own speeches.
I may be off a little when mentioning this but wasn’t G. W. excused from having to go to Vietnam right away? Doesn’t the G. W. have a proven history of Running his business into the ground. The president father was there every time to bail him out. You are 100% correct about the media brain washing Americans.
I am not sure what you are talking about. President Bush flew airplanes that were not needed in Vietnam. He did not hid from Vietnam and that is just propaganda. He served in a guard unit that was not activated for Vietnam.
What I find funny is Bill Clinton was a HERO for running to Canada to avoid an evil war. President Bush served in the guard and could have been called up. He did not run, but more people respect Bill Clinton that President Bush regarding their actions during Vietnam. Not saying this is you, just what I see in the press.

hey thats what hes saying and doing, its turning into a dictatorship!
So, the Democrats taking control of the Senate and the House is part of Bush's plan to become a dictatorship? Don't dictators try to take control of the government instead of losing control of two VERY important bodies of government?

"If you understand intelligence you will know the President has first hand and second hand intelligence. He has access to raw data and analysis. WHat I ment by 2nd hand information was, he is not on the ground fighting the war, seeing with his own eyes what is going on every second. He relies on his people for this information, which isn't a bad thing. If the President has first hand knowledge, was he aware of the whole abusing the prisoner deal? The media covered this, did they spin it way out of proportion? If he knew, did he just ignor what was going on, or just not care? You said he relys on experts, yes this is the truth. I think the experts made many mistakes, hey humans make mistakes. Did the media make up the reason we went to iraq (WMD) or was this the experts that said this? The next thing I heard was to remove Sadam, and to free the people.
"Not 100% true. All politicians have speech writers, but they ALL input and tell the writers what they want to talk about and go through 4 to 5 revisions. In many cases they write their own speeches. "
Does the President have someone spcifically that does this job, and only this job? If this is the case I would think this is a waste of money. If the president outlines the speeches then has someone write it and then he revises it. WHy couldn't another person take on this task. Yes they all have a tremendous amount of work to take on, but this could be done. Say at my job my boss has a new job or task to be preformed. I don't think my boss would go out and hire someone for this one task. He would just deligate and add it to my job description. Why would my boss want to have to spend more money when he doesn't have to. But with the government I feel this isn't the case. I feel that spending money with the government isn't an issue. Yes something are nessairy but not everything. I feel that all media is not negative. If someone is giving false information, makeing things up couldn't they get in trouble possibly sued?
