NBA All-Star Game
On Thursday, the 10 starters for the 56th NBA All-Star Game, voted in by the fans, were announced on TNT. On this week's TNT broadcast, the 14 reserves, selected by the coaches, will be announced. We know some of the obvious additions, nash, dirk, etc. but who do you think is on the bubble? who do you think is deserving but just might get snubbed? also it is being held in las vegas, a non-NBA city, which i think is a great idea. the forum is open for discussion.
here's this year's starters:
WEST-
pg Kobe Bryant
sg Tracy Mcgrady
sf Kevin Garnett
pf Tim Duncan
c Yao Ming (injured)
EAST-
pg Gilbert Arenas
sg Dwyane wade
sf Lebron james
pf Chris Bosh
c Shaquille O'Neal

Nash not a starter...thats funny. I don't like the fans having so much say in this, b/c people make the All-Star team that don't deserve to (Shaq). As far as reserves go, here's my picks:
WEST:
Nash
Dirk
Marion
Melo
A.I.
Garnett
Boozer
EAST:
Dwight Howard
Kidd
Carter
Joe Johnson
Billups
J. O'Neal
And my sleeper...he deserves it: Caron Butler
What's everyone else think?

I think there is one player that deserves to be an All Star so much, but will not be. His name is Baron Davis. The Warriors are only a game or so out of the playoffs, and it is all thanks to Davis. He has had one of his best years as a pro, and is a true leader to that team. But I know, and always will know, that the fans don't know ™™™™ about who deserves to be in the game. So for me, it doesn't mean anything. All I have to say is Shaq and Yao, neither one deserves remotely to be in the All Star game. But whatever, popularity always wins over talent.

i definitely think butler will get in. he's the one the media is attaching to, and he's got the feel good story to go w/ it. as for yao and shaq i agree as well. it happens every year, injured player who hasn't played well at all get voted in as a starter just by name alone.

That is something for a Heat fan to acknowledge, I'm proud. But on the subject, yes neither deserve it. It makes me embarassed for the NBA, that the fans don't seem to ACTUALLY be watching the games because they are voting for players who haven't even played. There are plenty of players who deserve those spots, yet they continuasly get shafted.

I dunno...I don't think Baron Davis should make it. For two reasons....one, from the list I posted, who should he go over? I can't justify putting him in over any of those guys. The other reason, is Davis has been suspended a few times in his career (once a few weeks back) for swinging at people. Now, as a GS fan, don't come at me because I said that, thats just a simple fact, that because the NBA is so paranoid with cleaning up the league (i.e, Kobe "hitting" Manu a few nights ago).

Your saying Shaq and Yao dont have Talent, If they dont deserve to be in it its because htey have been injured.
Anyway the allstar game is about the fans picking who they want to see and they want to see Shaq and Yao

I think he should make it over Carlos Boozer. And so what if he's been suspended, that doesn't mean anything in an all star game. Finally, I am not a true Warriors fan, I am a Kings fan. So don't try and say I'm gonna attack you or sumtin. You don't now me, so don't pretend to.

Did you read my post? Cuz if you did you would realize that I never said what you said I did. Never once did I say that Shaq and Yao had no talent, I said that they didn't deserve to be there. Please don't put words in my mouth, it highly aggrivates me when people do. And, yes, the All Star game is about fan voting, but that doesn't mean they're right. They vote based on the name. I personally never think Yao should ever have been in an All Star, he just has a ton of fans that vote for him. And I'm a fan, and I don't want to see Shaq or Yao.
