How this will work?

Each person/member will act as the teams General Manager and choose a team as your own. You can pick your favorite team, or feel free to pick a team which you feel you can analyze well. Say you live in Miami, but like the Packers, maybe you don't hear all the inside information on the Packers, but through TV/Radio in Miami you hear a lot of rumors about canidates the Dolphins are looking at. You would better serve the STC Mock Draft by picking for the Dolphins because you could better draft effectively.

The key of this is NOT to draft a player you want for your team, but to actually be correct in what the team will truly pick.

You, as the Team's General Manager will use the NFL draft order for this year and when it comes to your spot to draft will choose a player. Along with your player's name. We ask you to give a little analysis/report. Your the GM! Think about it, what are the team's weaknesses, what would be their reasons for taking this person, who were they considering, etc. DON'T SIMPLY GIVE THE PERSON YOUR DRAFTING! Have fun with it, give us a description and your thought process behind the pick. What could you do as that team, lay out all the possibilities you see.

You can pick up to three teams to draft for, so post the team(s) you would like to draft for and I'll put you down. Once a user id is next to that team they are taken.

Details for Drafting

This will be a 1st Round Mock draft only.

There will be no trading of picks. You can speculate you think maybe this pick will be traded, or flat out say this pick will be traded, if you want to predict even deeper, but ultimatly you are picking for that team as though they are really drafting at that spot.

We are planning on having all teams filled in the next few weeks or so so that the Mock Draft can begin and end before the actual draft! Hopefull this will give us about a month to do this. Each team as 24 hours to make their selection. This does not mean however, you must take the 24 hours and the team behind you must wait. If the 49ers pick in the 1st 5 minutes of the draft, the next team is automatically on the clock then and has 24 hours to pick, SO PAY ATTENTION! Keep an eye on the thread, I will also PM you when you are On THE CLOCK. If a 2 days pass and you have not picked, I will colaborate with some other members and make the pick for you.

Please have fun with this, but take it to serious, I think it would be really neat if we could beat out the "experts" mock drafts and have ours look closer to the actual draft then theirs. Also remember to put an in-depth look and description/discussion for your pick.

With the #1 Pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders select WR Calvin Johnson.

Let's face it, this will probably be Randy Moss's last season in Oakland if he doesn't get traded. Jerry Porter has proved he's a #2 talent at the position which leaves the Raiders very weak at the WR position. Many think the QB position is a huge need for the Raiders but let it be known that not all is lost on Andrew Walter. Walter was pummeled last year due to inadequate and outdated schemes that were cooked up by two coaches that haven't even been in the league for years. A veteran QB will be attained as a backup plan and look for the Raiders to also select a QB in the 3rd round. In comes Lane Kiffin as the head coach who brings with him a young fiery attitude along with a brilliant offensive mind. Along with the additions of the former Falcons offensive coordinator and offensive lineman coaches, the Raiders are set to revamp the offense with a fresh west-coast hybrid offense with a zone cut blocking scheme. This alone will vastly improve the offensive line and the QB's ability to be productive. The Raiders have made it evident that they plan to run the ball next year which is made clear with the addition of Domonick Rhodes and the retaining of Lamont Jordan. This fits perfect into the cut blocking scheme and will free up the passing game. In comes Calvin Johnson who is considered a "can't miss" prospect much like Reggie Bush. Johnson is a great competitor with tremendously gifted attributes much like Randy Moss was when he came into the league. The obvious upgrade is that Johnson is a team player with an awesome attitude which is very contrast to the me-myself-and I attitude that has made Moss a cancer to both teams that he's been on. Johnson is set to supplant either Porter or Moss early on and will provide Oakland with the talented WR playmaker they have sorely missed since the departure of Mr. Raider himself, Tim Brown. Look for Johnson to be a star for years to come while bringing life back to a humbled Raider Nation.

With the #2 pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, The Detroit Lions select Jamarcus Russell, QB, LSU. This is the best thing that could've happened for the Lions. With the Raiders taking Johnson #1 and passing on a QB, there is no way the Lions could've gone any other route. The only thing this offense is missing is a young, solid QB who has the arm that Russell has. With the addition of Tatum Bell in the offseason to go along with Roy Williams and the surprising Mike Furrey, this offense can now begin to take shape in head coach Rod Marinelli and offensive cordinator Mike Martz's system. With Jon Kitna still around there will be no need to rush Russell into the starting role until he is absolutely ready to be the man. But once he is comfortable enough to take the reigns, look out!!!!!

With the 3rd pick in the draft, the Cleveland Browns pick Adrian Peterson, RB, Oklahoma. After much back and forth between Peterson and QB Brady Quinn, the Browns go with the potential gamebreaker in Peterson. Let's face it...Reuben Droughns and Jamal Lewis are temporary fixes...when an Eric Dickerson clone like Peterson is available, you grab him and hold on. Now, all the Browns need is some O line help to give Frye a little time.......

With the 4th Pick in the 2007 NFL Draft the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Joe Thomas, OT, Wisconsin. Thomas is the answer to the Tampa Bay offensive line woes. There is talent at the skills positions with Jeff Garcia (QB), Cadiliac Williams (RB) and Joey Galloway & Michael Clayton (WR's). But there is no use in having all of that talent if there is no line to block for them!! Well, Thomas will be the man to protect the QB's blind side for years to come and he will anchor a line that can finally open up holes for the Cadillac to to cruise through for a running game. The Bucs definitely got their man with this pick!!!!

Arizona was hoping for Joe Thomas to get to them with the 5th pick...we will be spending our full time limit trying to figure out the next best option and if this scenario plays out in real life will try and trade down...

Well, we the Arizona Cardinals will try to move up to take Thomas, or if thats not possible trade down to take Levi Brown, we feel taking him here at the 5 spot would be overpicking too much and while a player such as Gaines Adams or Amobi Okoye or Alan Branch would help solidify our line our primary goal is to get a top tier OT in the first round.

With that said, and the purpose of this board is to pick with the spot your given, with that said we must go for the highest player on our list. The Arizona Cardinals select, Gaines Adams, DE from Clemson University. We believe his amazing atheletic ability will add instant impact to our defensive line and his 40 time blew us away! We will now look to address oline in future rounds.
