While we are frustrated a deal could not be worked with the Bears for LB Lance Briggs, we will still work feverlishly today trying to swap 1st round picks in the attempt to get Briggs from Chicago.

We look at offense and love the strides Jason Campbell took last year, so no need to go QB, Clinton Portis and Ladell Betts are a great 1-2 combo at RB, we wouldnt mind adding a bigtime WR to the fold but Santana is a star and there is noone else in this draft worth taking this high. So we turn to defense.

We were very poor in run defense last year and therefore we feel our #1 need is Dline....so DT or DE? Here we are looking at Alan Branch, Amobi Okoye, or Jamaal Anderson. Branch would be a huge athletic body to put in the middle but his lack of work ethic concerns us and is the talk of the combine. Okoye has slowly creeped up our board to be the top DT in this draft, and Jamaal Anderson would give us a great quick pass rusher off the end.

With this pick, the Washington Redskins select, Amobi Okoye, DT from Louisville. We feel his athletic ability at the DT position and his ability to get inside pressure and stuff the run is a critical piece we were missing on our Dline and Okoye will help plug up the holes.

With the seventh overal pick, we had many options with this. WR is one of our biggest concerns. We were hoping to trade up for Calvin Johnson, but that didn't happen. Even trading down to take a WR is a possibility since there isn't another top tier WR out there, we can wait till the later rounds and take a solid reciever.

We have some concerns elsewhere, including defensive end, but QB is our question mark. Quarterback is the leader on the team, the entire offence is based around the QB. We have a lot of upside for Tarvaris Jackson, but we can't take any chances. Although it was his rookie season, he was pretty terrible. It would be beneficial for us to bring in another QB. So with that said...

with the seventh overal pick, the vikings select Brady Quinn, QB from Notre Dame

Quinn is the best possible player we believe with this pick. We had other holes, but this way we can give Jackson some pressure and have a backup plan if Jackson doesn't pan out.

After Minnesota's pick the war room of the Atlanta Falcons let out a big WHEW! We now get our man at the 8th spot who we highly wanted all along. Our top needs are DE or Safety. With that said, the spot comes down to Jamaal Anderson or LaRon Landry.

Jamaal would give us a great presence off the end on defense with the loss of Patrick Kerney and duration concerns with John Abraham, Anderson would be an immediate upgrade to our dline and would help fill an immediate hole...however we feel Landry is such a special player at Safety and the highest player on our top board, and he also fits a need position for us. With that said, The Atlanta Falcons select, LaRon Landry, Safety from LSU

Its a glaring hole in Miami, the Dolphins need a OT or DT, there are 2 perfect fits for Miami right here, Alan Branch or Levi Brown fit in perfectly. But Miami could also use a playmaking WR. For now Miami will take a huge run stuffer and hope some WRs in this WR deep draft fall to them in Round 2, with this pick, the Miami Dolphins select, Alan Branch DT from Michigan

This is a tough choice for the Texans. There is still a need for a WR to play opposite Andre Johnson. So do we go with Dwayne Jarrett from USC?!?! No too early to draft him. There is also a need for a CB to play opposite Dunta Robinson. That would lead to the popular choice in Leon Hall from Michigan. But as we learned last year, the Texnas don't go with the popular pick!!! Therefore, with the 10th pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans select Levi Brown OT from Penn State University. The problem with the Texans isn't the defense. It has been the offense!!! Last year the Texans only scored 267 points for the entire season. While the defense only gave up 6 more points than the Suoer Bowl Champion Colts. The Texans have brought in QB Matt Shaub and RB Ahman Green but neither one of those players will be able to do anything unless there is a o-line that can block for them. Brown will be the stud that can protect Schaub's blindside for years to come and along with 2nd year OT Eric Winston, Brown will help tremendously improve what was once the Texans weak spot.
