DirtyHarry: I think it is fine, because if people keep asking you to add little things here and there then it seems like you will never get this thing completely installed(Not trying to make anyone mad, just stating my opinion).

Harry, you can add "Set" after manufacturer and that is it. I think we are at the 100% solution to make this week.

Thanks for the inputs guys! Now that this is done, please test it out and build a small inventory. We need to now test system and make sure it works correctly.

I don't know about other sports - but for racing just having the Card Manufacturer isn't enough. For example Press Pass has both Signings and Autographs - they are two separate series of cards.

I think there needs to be a box for Card Manufacturer and one for Series
Or do we put the Card Manufacturer and Series on the one line?

Should there be maybe two value fields? One for low Beckett & one for high Beckett

Value field is fine. It is what the trader is selling or valuing the card at. Subjective field.

If this will help sort for all members, there should be clear direction how to input the card manufacturer?

Example - The Cup could be entered as THE CUP, UD THE CUP, UPPER DECK THE CUP - If someone was to search for these cards, how would they enter it? How would the member enter their card for this? - Same for Ultra, Fleer Ultra.....etc

I think there should be a uniform way....maybe Card Manufacturer and then Set Name...

The problem with doing such a thing is what sportscardcollector said before - normalization. If we start establishing rules to enter data into the fields, the DB will soon become a mess. Better have a clear list of the single fields needed by all cards, and then implement them. It seems we are already pretty close, I just ask everybody to get together and decide. We are just coders, your contributions are probably even more important than what we do, really.

Anyhow, I have enabled the showcase box in the member profile. This will be shown also in the cardshow.php page (which will be ready in a few hours), but you can already look at it.

Just go to your UserCP, and you will see a new option in the Card DB section: Edit Showcase. We decided to expand a bit on it, and added a few automatic options as well. You can see the effect in the member profiles. ;)
