But Favre showed today that he is not comparable to Joe Montana
Just like Elway, Marino
Since the 1970s, Montana is #1 by far and away.
4 Super Bowl tries
4 Super Bowl wins
3 Super Bowl MVPs
Marino may have more yardage, more TDs
Other QBs may have better stats.........but no one is better than Montana
Marino also didn't have Jerry Rice.

I am to biast to aruge the point of montana being better then Favre but looking at my location its easy to see why on this :)
There is no way Favre should retire because of what happened. He has done some spectacular stuff and still has the strength to play the game. He is one of the few people in the game that play to win and not play to make millions of dollars((which im sure he enjoys but is not his main reason))
The thing that Favre needs to realize is that he cant force all the passes that he does. He tries to do to much and shouldnt need to, especially with the way ahman green has played this past season.
BTW the 2 reasons that the packers lost the game late in the 4th quarter are these
1) Not going for it on 4th and 1 when they were right around mid field. If they get the first down they would win the game burning out the clock
2) Yes they shouldnt have allowed the catch on 4th down but the positioning didnt even give them a chance. They lost enough yardage that made them sure they were getting the first. There should of been a positioning that gave a measurement and a slight chance he didnt get it

Marino also didn't have Jerry Rice.
Montana won in 1981 over the Bengals, without Jerry Rice
Montana won in 1984 (over Marino's Dolphins), also without Jerry Rice.
That's 2 of the 4 that he won before Rice made his debut in 1985
Montana's performance in the playoffs and Super bowl is spectacular, bar none.

Tim Rattay, the backup QB did a fairly good job.
I prefer him to Jeff Garcia, who's had his chances to perform, and couldn't take us far in the playoffs
give Rattay a chance

Brett Favre retiring is the worst thing that could happen to the Packers. Brett Favre makes the players around him better. He doesn't have any great WR's (though I think Javon Walker will make a mark in the league before his career is over) to throw to. Once Favre is gone this team is going to have a very bad offense unless Ahman Green can carry the ball 60 times per game. Being stuck with another lousy draft pick this year I wouldn't go against drafting someone. J.P. Losman out of Tulane is a Favre-like QB. Only problem with him is that he throws too many picks. Favre can get away with it since he has unmatched skill but it would be hard for anyone but Favre to throw that many picks and win.
Favre has made some poor decisions but the one against Philly didn't cost us the game. If we kick the FG instead of going for it on 4th and goal, go for it on 4th down and stop 4th and 26 we win. The loss was by no means Brett Favre's fault. If you're looking for someone to blame, blame Mike Sherman.

yea i guess you can look @ it that way. donald driver is good too, his season was shot when he sprained his neck on a jump ball in week one, and ferguson has come a LONG way, Walker will be a star...
Barnett will be the best!
