His decision most likely came once Moss resigned with the Pats.Favre wanted Moss on Packers and even spoke with him last week about joining...Not lets see if he is really retiring

A huge Mile High Salute to Brett Favre. I've enjoyed watching him for years and now the time has come to an end!

    Good Luck to Brett Favre.

I believe it was the right time to retire after the season that he had. Looking forward to seeing him in the HOF.
    Good luck Brett

It is a sad day...the ending of an era!

As far as people laughing about the poll saying he was better than Montana and Marino...I wouldn't say Montana due to the Super Bowls, but look at the facts: Favre won the Super Bowl, Marino did not and he broke most of Marino's big records this year. And people always say Marino didn't have the game-breaking WRs...but Duper and Clayton were just as good as Sharpe, Freeman, Driver. Also, people will point out that Marino put up those numbers in fewer years, but I say being able to play at such a high level for 17 years is one of the very things that makes Favre one of the all-time best...I think it's hard to compare QBs, especially two with as different styles as Favre and Marino, but if you look at the accomplishments, how can you laugh at someone saying Favre is better than Marino?

I'm extremely psyched about Rodgers getting in there. He definitely has the skills to be a big-time QB, but he's in a dangerous situation. He's following Brett Favre! I know it will be hard, but I hope the Green Bay organization and fans will give him a fair shot at it and not be ready to hang him if he isn't winning after the first 5-6 games. I know they're a loyal bunch, but they've had Favre for 17 seasons...it's not so hard to be loyal when you have one of the greatest QBs ever at the helm!
