With the 29th pick in the NBA draft the Detroit Pistons select

    Mario Chalmers PG Kansas
    Height: 6 foot 2
    Weight: 181

We felt that this was the best pick for us to take at this position, although we drafted rodney stuckey last year, we feel his length serves him to be a SG over a PG so drafting chalmers should help our bench and possibly our starting rotation one day.
he is an excellent defensive player breaking the freshmen record for steals with 89, his offensive game also proggresed throughout the season and makes us hopeful he will fit with the roleplaying style of play the pistons play

Good player, but I question whether he'd get the playing time with Billups and Stuckey there....

When you pick that late, you're probably drafting for a future replacement instead of an instant impact. Billups isn't getting younger, and I agree Stuckey could be played as a 2 down the road.

Yeah, I understand that, but how much playing time would he get in the next 2 years? Probably not too much....if Stuckey moves to the 2 spot, then he may get more. Good PG's are hard to come by, so I guess I would also pick him if he was still available then.

I agree. I was skeptical at first, but Chalmers and Stuckey would be like Davis and Ellis in GS, and that's a really good backcourt.

With the final pick in the first round, the 2008 NBA champion Boston Celtics select

    Marreese Speights
    Position: C
    Height: 6-10
    Weight: 245
    Age: 19
    School: Florida

Obviously whomever is taken with this pick will not see a lot of playing time right out of the gate. Boston does lack depth at the center position however, and with proper coaching and a lot of patience Speights could be a valuable contributor to the Celtics dynasty for years to come.

Mock draft completed! Took us less than a week too. Excellent job guys. Thanks to everyone who participated.

How does everyone feel about our mock draft?

Who was the "steal" of the draft?

Who has the greatest potential to become an NBA superstar?
