Game 1 USA (1-0) WIN over China (0-1) 101-70. Dwayne Wade led the scorers with 19 points. LeBron had 18, Kobe and Dwight Howard with 13 each. Rebounds went to Bosh who got a lot of playing time due to the blowout. He had 8 while LeBron** had 6, Anthony and Williams** each with 4. As for assists, Chris Paul (the obvious pick as it seems) led with 6 assists and LeBron** and Kobe each had 3. Assuming team USA will make it to play all 8 games, they are on pace for 808 points, but with the next matchup against lowest ranked Angola, we should expect a huge offensive performance (my guess will be throwing down 125 points on Tuesday).
** = Not chosen by anyone as their pick for that category.
(Ex: No participant chose LeBron to be the leading rebounder)
NEXT GAME: Tuesday, August 12 VS. Angola (0-1) (Germany 95 - Angola 66)

97 USA (2-0) VS (0-2) ANGOLA 76
GAME RECAP:
The U.S. Team, despite a hearty performance from Angola, cruised to its second consecutive victory on Tuesday, 97-76. The Americans received an unexpected challenge from the Angolans for much of the game. Angola, in fact, outscored USA in the fourth quarter.
Engineered by Chris Paul’s stellar backcourt defense, the U.S. converted on many fast break points. The team, however, didn’t shoot well from 3-point range (5-of-21).
Dwyane Wade continued to show that he has overcome his shoulder and knee injuries with a team-high 19 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field. Dwight Howard added 14 points and LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony each had 12.
STATS SUMMARY:
Points:
Dwayne Wade – 19 (Combined 38)
LeBron James – 12 (Combined 30)
Dwight Howard – 14 (Combined 27)
Kobe Bryant – 8 (Combined 21)
