Why is his reserve that high? I do not get that, whatsoever.
Wow, the back is offcentered!

$44,830! That is crazy that his reserve is so high. It is amazing what greed can do to someone ESPECIALLY if the seller was the guy that got it graded. He may have spend a few hundred for am ungraded Montana and now is not happy with $44,000?
Everyone has brought up some good points. I would be interested to see the history behind this card and what connections he has to Beckett.

Funny, the obvious defect in the card is the off centered back but the "9.5" subgrade is for surface?! Something is definately fishy here. lol

If you click on his feedback and view the auctions where he was the buyer, it seems that he buys high end cards and relists them with a higher buy it now or best offer to turn a profit. I bid on a bgs 10 Peyton Manning bowmans best rc auto last year and he outbid me and got it for around $850. He still has it listed now for $1495 or best offer. He bought a bgs 9 Tom Brady contenders last month and listed it already.

How is it greed? The seller is protecting his investment with a reserve. Looking at his other auctions, knowing he sells cards that are graded, it appears he knows exactly what he is doing.
I have put a reserve on a $500 card (reserve of $550). Listed it at .99 and let it run for 10 days. This brings exposure to a high end card, people add it to the watch list and wait to see what happens. I did not sell the card in the first 10 days. I then re-listed it immediately without a reserve at .99, the card sold for almost $900 for a few reasons.
#1. Exposure
#2. over 50 different bidders
#3. right place at the right time
His card is like the Wagner of football. $100K is not out of the question on this item.

I wonder how much his reserve is he... I'd say 50 thousand, but he had it set at BIN/BO of 80,000 so who knows

Ha I knew it, he just helped me prove that put unused plates in packs a printing plate should never ever ever get a BGS 9.5, proving my theory that they use unused printing plates in products now. Another low for the hobby.
