I suggest doing some research, but I posted these comments already.
In February 2004, his wife, Michelle, sent out a fundraising letter, which actually stated her concern over the rise of conservatism in the Country, and that the ‘so-called’ partial-birth abortion was a legitimate medical procedure that should be protected.
All I've said is we should have a provision to protect the health of the mother, and many of the bills that came before me didn't have that
First, note that Obama says "many of the bills". Notice the many? That means some bills actually came to him that did protect the health of the mother!!!
What "health of the mother" really means is doctors can say, "the mother just wasn't ready to be a mother so her mental health was at stake." Pretty clever, huh? Obama and pro-choice advocates will pass a law that states, "health of the mother," which allows doctors that are pro-choice to just give abortions as it is THEIR choice on what "health of the mother" means. As I posted, Surgeon Generals and all experts do NOT see how the health of the mother would EVER be an issue because you are already delivering the baby.

Whether you are killing a human or just not letting it be born, you are preventing it from living against it's will. Compare it to freedom: is it any better to never allow freedom than to allow it and then take it away? To me, they are the same thing. What is the difference in taking something away and never allowing it to be in the first place? Yeah, it doesn't know it's future is being taken away from it, but that doesn't mean it isn't still being taken away. Saying it wasn't alive is just a justification to make people feel ok with it. You're still restricting a potential human's right to life.

PIMP, I completely respect your opinion and in some sense agree with you. I wasn't trying to justify abortion by saying it wasn't born yet, I just feel that's a factual statement.
However, I'm kind of conflicted...I'm fine with a person being charged with 2 deaths if they kill a pregnant mother...go figure?

It's all good. And not everybody uses it as a justification. Not directing this at you, but some people think of it as killing a human and still do it. I'm more ok with that than people who make justifications and excuses to make themselves feel like their not actually doing what they're doing....and least they're honest about what's going on.
Basically, I just want to point out that it really doesn't matter if you think the baby is "living" yet or not (not necessarily to you, but just as a point in the abortion debate in general). That seems to be a pretty big issue about abortion, that if it's not living yet, you're not killing it. In reality, it's all the same.

I'm afraid I'm a righty when it comes to abortion, as it is very seldom necessary. There are far more alternatives to it.
Also, I attended an Obama rally a few months back, and he said he'd like to instill the alternatives in today's youth: protected sex, adoption centers, etc.
