Maybe we could change the label to say "Mail date or DC #"... then more people will start doing it. Well that's not the main topic of this thread but I will suggest it when we are upgrading trade manager.

I think it'd be a good idea, but to be honest. i am really getting tired of people shipping late, and especially when they lye. i wont go any further in my comments about that.

Not saying everyone but if you agree to a date and unless certain circumstances uncontrable (ex:death in family, tornando, hurricane etc) and dont communicate it, i'd leave a negative.
Communication is key, i think we all agree when someone communicates they couldnt send/forgot to, misplaced mailer etc, we are alot more forgiving then when not told at all.

Some members really need to learn they need to ship fast, or they never will.

I completely support this idea. If it going to be more than a day or two before I can ship, I make sure to let the other trader know. However, I've had a big problem with trades taking weeks to get to me even when I send the day after the trade is confirmed. To me, that is just rude, and I think everyone should be held accountable for sending their trades out in a reasonable amount of time.

I know a lot of people, myself included to some extent, are somewhat reluctant to leave anything but positive feedback. This gives the illusion that trader are 'perfect' with 100% positive feedback, yet these are the same people that take weeks to ship. This rule will keep everyone honest and responsible for adhering to good trade policies and it will be known who does not. I would love to see this instituted in the near future!

Ok, here's my take on it as a trader with close to 900 feedbacks. I just got a package today from Canada. The deal was posted on 9/24 but the envelope is post marked 10/15 ! There was no communication about late shipping and I sent my package on 9/25 (the next day). To me, it looks like the other person waited to send mine until he received his first. The trade manager hasn't been updated by the other person yet, so I don't know for sure if he received my cards yet.

Am I pissed that it took 20 days to mail my cards ? Absolutely

Do I think it warrants a negative ? Not at all.

I did get the cards I was supposed to get and they were fine condition wise. The only problem was it took 20 days to mail them so to me, that warrants a neutral feedback because of slow shipping but cards received as described.

i have a question. if a trade was made before this rule was made out, and both traders agreed that it was ok if one trader shipped out later than the three days after received, does one trader automatically leave negative feedback or is it excused because it was agreed upon the late shipping?

As long as both traders know about the late shipping, it is excused.

If I get something after they have received mine I usually think that they probably just forgot until they received mine in the mail. Some people are just not as on top of things.

Sometimes people probably do intentionally wait too... but i guess i'm just saying there could be other reasons.

So after a trade dispute i had was finished Ed (etmill) told me that this is still being discussed, which sounds like the "members feedback" on this is not very important, if staff goes majority over the members feelings it gets changed to old?

I think it should be a case by case basis, neutral doesnt hurt someones feedback percentage and people are more forgiving to a neutral. i waited 1 month for cards to get shipped before and another week to get them, so 5 weeks after comfirming the trade, and he gets a neutral? thats saying if you eventually send the card you will only get a neutral? unfair if you ask me

Member feedback is always important, however, we are not going to change something with discussing it in the staff forums because a few members want a change. If we did that, rules would get changed daily around here.
