    Who should play Captain America?

    Article

Film is scheduled for a May 2011 release. Weeks later an Avengers movie will follow.

Who should play him? Matthew McConaughey? An unknown?

I know he's done some stinkers, but I like McConaughey for the role. He's got the physique, he's got the blonde hair, blue eyed all American look...I think he would fit.

But I am also a fan of unknowns playing superhero roles. That way you don't think about past characters they've done, they start out as that hero...kind of like don't want the actor playing the hero to be bigger than the hero itself.

    Viggo Mortensen.

Basically anyone but The Rock would do for me, though.

Paul Walker was the rumored front runner in the early stages of development, and as much as I like McConaughey I think he would be a terrible Captain America.

Personally, I think the key to a good superhero movie is you actually get actors that can act. The best Superhero movies IMO have been Iron Man and Batman Begins/Dark Knight. Both feature a cast who are actually good actors. I don't think McConaughey is a good actor.

My first choice would be Matt Damon, but that won't happen and he has stated he doesn't want to do a Superhero movie.

I have to add Vin Diesel to that list...that's a one-way ticket to boycott from me.

I can't stand Paul Walker...talk about can't act! I definitely agree about Iron Man and the new Batman franchise. I'm a huge fan of Downey Jr and Bale and they both did amazing.

Ha! Glad to see I'm not the only one! It looks like the studios finally realized Diesel was terrible...he hasn't been in too much lately.
