    I grew up in the south and always called it pop now I live on the west coast and it's refered to as soda. I still call it pop

    If you're picking a specific drink, then yeah we say the actually name. But if the question is types of drinks, then it's coke....like "juice, milk, tea, coke"

    that's what I'm talking about! Coke.

    used pretty much like the others would be.

    "I'll have a coke."
    "we have sprite, mountain dew, dr. pepper, etc."

    Oh c'mon...you need the southern option too! I have never said pop or soda...when generalizing to that level in the south, everything is a coke.

    When I was a kid, one of my best friends' mom was from Michigan and said pop. It took me forever to figure out what she was talking about.

    between soda and pop I say soda, but I usually say coke.

    who says, soda pop?

    ....there is noooo doubt its SODA!!!

    the first time i heard pop...i was in indiana and the waitress asked if i wanted pot...having never heard of "pop" before...i thought she asked if i wanted pot....

    Eastern PA near Philly / Jersey border SODA. I know some people from western PA past Pittsburgh that say pop though.
