i'm not knocking anybody for having a fake tree....it just seems cheesy....i honestly thought the results would be reversed with about 17 having real trees and 6 having fake....i guess its just me, but i dont really know anybody who has a fake tree

You've got some cheap trees where you are. Around here, they're $20 and up, usually around $30 for a good one. But in the long run, you can use an artificial for several years and it comes out ahead in the end.

But what I was actually referring to was the terms you used. It's not "cheap," the PC term is "cost efficient." And, one that I use regularly, it's not "lazy," it's "energy efficient." I have no clue how the tree would be energy efficient, I just prefer being called that instead of lazy

Politically Correct...I pay absolutely no attention whatsoever to PC stuff except to make fun of it and use the made up ones like that.

The Cleveland Indians and the Washington Redskins are not PC names anymore...that has nothing to do with this topic, but that is an example.

We have a fake one, but we aren't putting it up this year because we have to paint the house.

We get a real one every year. I am surprised by the results. I though more people would have real ones.

I dont know where the $20 trees are coming from though...

Around here for the 7-8 ft one we got, it was $50 something dollars. Definitely beats a fake one though in my opinion.

Real trees around here are cheap if they are $30...occasionally you'll see one that's $20-25, but usually $30 is the starting price.

I have always bought real ones. I like the smell of it and it is fun to go out with your family and pick one up

I am honestly shocked the voting is 12-3 right now for artificial

I have never had anything other than a real tree, as I thought most people did...I always thought people who had artificial trees were lazy, or cheap, or both....but I guess it's just for convenience....no offense to anybody who has fake ones

How is having a real tree unrealistic? At least where I live, there are tree farms where all they do is grow Christmas trees

real. i love the smell and picking it out with the family. The wife and I thought of getting a fake one but once our daughter was born we wanted her to have a real tree.

i picked up a real tree with my gf and found that they are really cool..they smell great and look really nice with lots of lights...but the downfall definately would be the needles...

I agree 100% with all the above! ^^^

Same here, our tree was like $60 or something. IMO it's worth it though.
