Post a Price......
.....or GTF out! (It's really that easy)
I'm amazed at the lack of intelligence, honesty, and integrity of some of the posters here. So, I thought I'd pose the question for everyone to share their personal opinion.
When someone offers up a card for sale, there should be a price. Correct? All too often, when someone has a card to sell, the price is..."Make an Offer." Well....Make an offer of what? If you havent listed an original price...there is nothing to offer. Its pretty sad actually.
When was the last time, you walked into a grocery store, and wanted to buy something, only to find that instead of a price tag....it simply said "Make an Offer?" Or walk into BestBuy, to buy that Plasma TV you've been wanting, only to have the salesman answer you with "Make an Offer" when you ask "HOW MUCH is the TV?" Sounds like a pretty dishonest answer to me. (Trying to avoid the question)
There are really only two reasons for not listing a price.
1. You are being dishonest, and hoping that someone will offer you more than you think it is worth.
2. You really have no idea what it is that you have. (Ignorance)
So, if you are one of these people, who always respond with a "Make an Offer," when selling a card......which reason is it for you? #1 or #2?
Open for discussion. I'd really like to know.

When people do that, I go lower than the value I think it is worth. If they don't like it, they should have given me a price.

I'm not sure if people just dont understand basic psychology or what....but they need to understand, that they would be able to sell items ALOT faster, if they would just post a price to begin with. Its so Elementary.

I agree. I bought some cards on this site for my set and was thinking the apporiate price would be around $70 with shipping. The guy told me $71. If he had just done that earlier I would have paid sooner.

I think the worst part of it is, if you offer some of these "sellers" something lower than what it's worth or lower than what it sells for on eBay, they get really upset and sometimes come back with angry or rude responses such as "do you think I'm an idiot?" or "wow way to low ball me" etc. I think a simple no thanks would suffice in most cases because after all a) you did ask people for offers and b) if you know the value of the card and what you want to sell it for already why are you just dancing around the issue? Or I think it's perfectly reasonable to response with a counter offer instead of just being rude to potential buyers. I think there is no reason to be upset at someone trying to find a good deal, especially when you are ASKING for people to approach you with prices.
I think the least you can do is set a high price and let people talk you down. The simple statement "make an offer" with no guidelines is confusing and I've learned to stop dealing with those people.

Well I did that with my jordan auto before I understood what to do. The second time I posted it with guidelines and it went away. Woo-hoo. That is what I am doing now, placing guidelines for high end trades. That was ignorance on my part before.

i think this is wrong "There are really only two reasons for not listing a price.
1. You are being dishonest, and hoping that someone will offer you more than you think it is worth.
2. You really have no idea what it is that you have. (Ignorance)"
these are not the only reasons ex the card could also not have a price like a 1/1
or someone might not have a current beckett mag
and r u seriusly going to tell me that u wouldnt take more for a card then its worth
and with some people going by bv and some by sv its hard to know what someone is willing to pay for the card
I think the least you can do is set a high price and let people talk you down. ive tride to do this it dosent work they just lol at it
