Well I think a reasonable price on non-star cards is 15-25% of high beckett. Star cards should go at high beckett price or more for high end sets. Low-mid range sets it should be around 50% of high.

There is no relation at all between beckett value and sell value. A card could sell for $600 and have a BV of $700, while another card could have a BV of $500 and sell for $150. Beckett value is the biggest waste in this hobby. It says nothing about what a card is worth, because a card is only worth what somebody is willing to pay. Ebay prices are what somebody is willing to pay, so that is the true value of the card. Of course timing and listing features have an effect on the final price, but not a significant effect.

i think this is wrong "There are really only two reasons for not listing a price.
1. You are being dishonest, and hoping that someone will offer you more than you think it is worth.
2. You really have no idea what it is that you have. (Ignorance)"
these are not the only reasons ex the card could also not have a price like a 1/1
or someone might not have a current beckett mag
and r u seriusly going to tell me that u wouldnt take more for a card then its worth
and with some people going by bv and some by sv its hard to know what someone is willing to pay for the card
I think the least you can do is set a high price and let people talk you down. ive tride to do this it dosent work they just lol at it
I think everything in the OP is true even if it is a 1/1 the seller knows what hes looking for. Also everyone who sells will take more then its worth but the people buyin want it lower then its worth so thats why they haggle.. but its hard to do that on here with the Make an offer junk.. To be fair when you said "ive tride to do this it dosent work they just lol at it" you were tring to trade some rapper auto on a sports card forum..

Exactly. I think it is fine to ask a buyer to make an offer, because it is your cad and you can do whatever you want with it. Some sellers perfer just looking at offers, and others prefer having a set price. There are always two sides to everything. As a buyer I would rather have set prices, but as a seller I would rather have offers unless I have a set offer in my mind.

.....or GTF out! (It's really that easy)
I'm amazed at the lack of intelligence, honesty, and integrity of some of the posters here. So, I thought I'd pose the question for everyone to share their personal opinion.
When someone offers up a card for sale, there should be a price. Correct? All too often, when someone has a card to sell, the price is..."Make an Offer." Well....Make an offer of what? If you havent listed an original price...there is nothing to offer. Its pretty sad actually.
When was the last time, you walked into a grocery store, and wanted to buy something, only to find that instead of a price tag....it simply said "Make an Offer?" Or walk into BestBuy, to buy that Plasma TV you've been wanting, only to have the salesman answer you with "Make an Offer" when you ask "HOW MUCH is the TV?" Sounds like a pretty dishonest answer to me. (Trying to avoid the question)
There are really only two reasons for not listing a price.
1. You are being dishonest, and hoping that someone will offer you more than you think it is worth.
2. You really have no idea what it is that you have. (Ignorance)
So, if you are one of these people, who always respond with a "Make an Offer," when selling a card......which reason is it for you? #1 or #2?
Open for discussion. I'd really like to know.
i agree 100%

bottom line there pieces of cardboard worth absulty nothing. one persons value of a card is diferent than anothers y is it a bad thing to ask what the card is worth to u ?
