The seller can do whatever he likes. You cant make the seller do anything. He is in control, it is his card. You can choose not to buy from him. If you are uncomfortable making an offer, go to someone else. Its that easy.

Im not uncomfortable with anything. Just quickly seperating the chumps from the true collectors. Thats all.

It's like going to the Doctor......he cant help you if you dont tell him where it hurts.

You: "Doc..I need you to help."

Doc: "Well, where does it hurt?"

    You: "Just guess"

Doc: "You came to me....asked me for help...now where does it hurt?

    You: "Just guess"

Doc: "Umm...Well, just tell me where it hurts"

You: "Well, you're the doctor you should know"

Doc: "How am I supposed to know where it hurts, if you wont tell me?"

You: "Well, Im the patient...So sorry if it makes you uncomfortable to have to guess. You cant make me say anything, I'm in control.

    Doc: Get the F Out!

Well you are saying that the seller came to the buyer? Doesnt really work that say most of the time. If the seller comes to the buyer, the buyer has every right to want a price. But if the buyer should not come to you and demand a price.

HAHAHA this is a great posting, honestly when I sell cards I put it out there for what I have in it or for how much I would pay for it If I was buying it for myself, Dont try to screw people or waste time, make deals and cut breaks then when the time comes around they might have somthing you need. Atleast thats how I was raised.

    Always Post a Price

I agree with that. I try to give people breaks all the time. If you give a price it goes away faster. If you set a price and someone offers you lower, you say no. Someone else will buy it if it is reasonable. The buyer shouldn't have to go through the hassle. Customer service makes people more likely to come back to you. Simple societal rules, I think.

There is no relation at all between beckett value and sell value. A card could sell for $600 and have a BV of $700, while another card could have a BV of $500 and sell for $150. Beckett value is the biggest waste in this hobby. It says nothing about what a card is worth, because a card is only worth what somebody is willing to pay. Ebay prices are what somebody is willing to pay, so that is the true value of the card. Of course timing and listing features have an effect on the final price, but not a significant effect.

I have to disagree with that. Just look at ebay and say my theory doesn't stand.

Your points make a great deal of sense, but I don't mind when a person lists the book value and says to make an offer because they are going to sell it by a certain date. That way, I can make an offer I hope they will accept, knowing that he may wait until later to see if another person passes my offer. If I make an offer, I never go back and make a higher one.
Thanks for the suggestion, and I will now put a price tag on any card I offer.
