atlanta will trade kovalchuk. it makes no sense for them to keep him as they can't re-sign him. the kings have a ton of cap space and can offer a good package. personally, i think kovalchuk would like playing in LA. he's been in hockey **** for quite a while and i think he'd like being in the nation's #2 market.

jim fox (kings analyst) has already made mention of the kings interest during the trade deadline coverage on nhl network.

of course, it's all just rumors until something happens, but that's the fun of it.

Yeah. Gabby has said he'd love to play in la too. I'd rather have kovie though. But if Boyle is sent over to get him I'd snap. They haven't given him a real chance in the NHL like they have to moller and Purcell and even simmonds. Would LOVE to see frolov and gauthier leave though

why do you want to see frolov go? he's the most consistent goal scorer we have.

btw, i wouldn't put it past LA to sign gabby and trade for kovy. they could fit both under the cap pretty easily and don't have to give up anything for gabby. i'm not saying they will, but it is possible as they have the assets to get kovy and they have the cap room to fit both.

Whoa - Why do I seem to get past 2 pages before I see this thread - LOL

First off - Hickey is way ready - Remember he Captianed Team Canada a few months ago....played in the final match against Sweden (which Moller Captained).....He is so mature - He could make the jump if needed - Teubert is still another year away.....but close - he played aside Hickey during that tournament....

As of lines - we can only guess what they will be as Murray switches up the lines nightly...Dave, he keeps 2 of them together and switches a winger between lines....
But if I had my way, I would like to see:

    Kovalchuk-Kopitar-Frolov
    Williams-Stoll-Brown
    Moller-Handzus-Simmonds
    Purcell-Boyle-Westgarth

    Doughty-O'Donnell
    Greene-Johnson
    Harrold-Quincey

    Quick
    Ersberg

Scratches - Ivanans, Cliche, Clune - These guys were injured but looked like they may have started the season with the Kings)

The D-pairings are good as the match Offensive-minded with a Defensive-minded - I dont think Richardson will last long...but O really like Westgarth...Solid....better than Ivanans....
