i was impressed with hickey in the WJ's. not as much with teubert, but hickey played a ton and played very well. i think he can jump if we need him too. and if i remember right, he's a year older than doughty.
just a few issues with your lines.
1. both frolov and kovy play the left wing. that's why i think frolov will go down to second line and brown would move up.
2. i just love the way purcell is playing and think he could be top 6, or at least third line. maybe switch him and moller? he's been fantastic on the PP and i think he can be a big scorer, which is what we need.
3. i'm not sold on boyle yet. i'd rather see calder on the 4th line, although maybe boyle has more than he's shown.
do you happen to know which contracts are running out this year? maybe calder is up?
either way, i like what we could look like next year. even if we don't get kovy, i still think we're a playoff team. but if we can get kovy (who is only 25!) we can be dangerous. add a top notch goalie and we can do damage in the playoffs.
btw, i was looking at our roster and how many rookies we're playing right now. purcell, simmonds, moller, doughty, quick are all regulars. plus westgarth and a few others we've had up (lewis, boyle)
lewis is another guy that might crack the lineup. although, we'd lose at least two prospects for kovy. atlanta was smart to keep him and hold out for the best offer. they would have had only half the league after him at the deadline. at the draft, everyone will be after him.
it will take at least two quality young, nhl-ready guys to get him. but i say we can't trade any of these guys...
brownie - the captain
kopitar - the face of the team
frolov - truest goal scorer we have
purcell - best rookie forward on the team
johnson - no limit to his potential
doughty - i smell norris!
i'd like to keep greene and quincey as well as stoll and a couple other guys, but i think those are the untouchables.

I think Calder is up this summer - but he is playing well with Brown and Stoll so who knows...
As for trade bait - I think Lewis or Boyle will go...They have tried Boyle up a few times but he seems to be the one going back down (possibly a waiver thing though) - I like Boyle and was hoping he would crack the line-up this season but doesnt seem to be part of the flow of the team.....
They like Boyle in Manchester though so who knows.....
Your right about Fro and Brownie - mixed Brown with LW as I thought Sully was RW for some reason.....so - yeah - i agree....

I also agree that Purcell could be a top 6....He looks really comfortable out there with Kopi and Fro...

yeah, calder is finally playing near his contract, but i think we can let him go.
we also have moulson that someone may want. but i'd be ok with trading lewis. we're pretty strong up the middle with kopitar, stoll, moller and handzus.
i just found a site with the contract situations of the kings.
UFA's
Calder
Armstrong
Gauthier (yeah!)
RFA
Boyle
J.Johnson (uh oh)
Purcell
B.Murray
Westgarth
Moulson
UFA's the next year
Frolov
Ivanans
so it looks like calder, armstrong and gauthier will go. we should have plenty of $ to re-sign johnson and frolov. everyone else looks good for a while and we're at least $10 Million under the cap.
