the only one anyone would go after is johnson, and i'm guessing they'll re-do him before he comes up. they have the money and he's healthy.
plus, we're saving over 6.5 on the three UFA's that are leaving.

just another thing lombardi has done very well. this team is set up for years financially. he gave a couple of guys more than they were worth, but they all are expiring now. no bad, long term deals so far.

i imagine he'll re-up quincey here very soon as well. and if they intend to keep quick, they'll re-do him. if they're looking at dealing him, they may wait.

I think the Bernier/Quick combo will work out...although I like Ersberg....Quick is looking better right now - This weekend will tell the tale on how the Kings will fair in the playoff race - Vancouver (probably ****** they lost against us last night) on Friday and then SJ on Sat night...both on the road

yeah, we need to split at minimum, and three points is almost a must. if we lose them both, i say we bring some kids up and get them some experience.

i do hope bernier works out, but a lot depends on what they feel like they need to do. if they decide to go get kovy, they better upgrade in net as well. it wouldn't make any sense to spend all that money on one guy and have a guy with 0 playoff experience in goal.

i really think that he needs to pick one guy to keep in the NHL next year and pick one guy to play the majority of the time in Manchester. Then bring in someone to be the #1 and mentor the back up guy. split like 60-20 or something like that.

so if you're going to keep quick, then let him back up a number one guy. give bernier the #1 job in manchester and move ersberg. or move bernier or quick or whatever. but i just don't think quick is the cup winning goalie we're looking for.

he really has played well and we've been 100% better than we were with labarbera.

although taking a look at who is going to be available, i'm not too impressed...

    clemmensen (will probably be re-signed)
    t.thomas (probably re-signed)
nittymaki (not a #1 in my mind)
    legace (been there)
    roloson (too old - he's 39)
    biron (see nittymaki)
    gerber (yikes)
    fernandez (injuries)
khabibulin (i'd love him for a 1-2 year contract if we can get him)

well bout time im back on the thread

    RFA
    Boyle
    J.Johnson (uh oh)
    Purcell

all will be resigned. boyle is a question mark becaue deano hasnt been happy with his play but he's been out there with crummy players when he has played. they need to give him a shot with some good players.

and guys i dont think clemmensen is getting resigned after the year he had. he would most likely want to play in the nhl. we have the money for him

and nhlnumbers.com is an amazing site eh? it has the payroll for all teams, which player gets paid what, who is going to be a free agent, etc

i don't think the devils will keep weekes, so they could have clemmensen as marty's backup if they choose to.
boyle played mostly on the fourth line. he looked a little lost to me out there. i imagine they will re-sign him if they don't trade him.

the site is very nice. lots of information that i was looking for.
