Add the Iverson-Billups trade to the list of most boneheaded trades ever. Did the Pistons really think they could improve their team by trading a generous PG, the source of their chemistry, for an egotistical jerk???

its not the most boneheaded trade...this trade was made to have 20 million extra in salary cap for 2010, possibly the greatest free agent class there will ever be. Chauncey wasnt getting any younger, and while he'd be good for another few years, the Pistons want to get younger, so by having this expiring contract, they'll be able to get 2 young superstars if they want to in 2010

I can't blame Iverson for being upset. I know from experience how difficult it is to be one of the better players on a team, then when you come back from an injury or play for a different team, your on the bench. I play soccer for my school, I started my freshmen year and led the team in assists, but I got hurt the last game of the year. My sophomore year I come back and make the team, but I don't start because I still hadn't recovered 100%, didn't have the same speed I had before or the aggression. I wanted to quit so badly because I wasn't starting when I was the year before. I'm a Junior this year, and I'm still not a starter, but I do get to play more than the guy that starts over me. Anyway...my point is, I was frustrated and wanted to quit, sounds kinda like what Iverson is going through. He is used to being a starter and a play-maker, and he feels like he can do all those things if given a chance.

the problem between the situation is that he was given a chance, he started for a real long time, and he didnt play well..

Rip wasnt happy either, and he as well had always been a starter, but he said if it was for the GOOD OF THE TEAM that he would do as he was told, and the Pistons did worse, once Rip was put back into the starting lineup they played much better...

Manu Ginobli could start/should start but because the team does better with him as the 6th man, he comes off the bench for the good of the team and they have been more successful because of it...

in the NBA on a successful franchise such as the Pistons have been, you need to leave your ego at the door...

the difference between your Soccer playing & AIs Basketball is it sounds like you played very well before your injury, AI played terrible before his...

Good to see he's matured since his days in Philly.
