Here is the video of the goal.

I myself thought it was a clean goal, it went off of his stick then his torso.

Personally I hate goals like that and do not think they should ever count. I mean what is a goalie to do? Throw himself in front of a 200 lb guy coming in at full speed skates first. Nigel Dawes used to do that all the time when the Devils and rangers played and I think it's bush league, but by the rule book it's a legit goal.

But what is the player supposed to do, (and I'm not just saying it because it was Crosby). When you learn to play hockey, you are told to "drive the net". But I do see where you are coming from.

Ok, as a Flyers fan I don't think it was a bad goal. According to the rules its a good goal. I'm not blaming the officials...the officials gave the Flyers 8 power plays and they didn't sore.

But the fact remains that the Flyers WERE the better team tonight. The only good player ont he Pens tonight was Fleury. The Flyers have dominated the last 3 games. The Flyers could and should be up in the Series 3-1. In Game 2, Carter should have put away the shot right out infront of the net, but it rolled off his stick and went into the center of the net where fleury had his leg instead of the open near post. Obviously they won game 3, and then tonight was a game they really should have won.

The Flyers HAVE been the better team in this series. Fleury stole the game for them tonight, and I think the Pens will win in Game 5 and take the series. I'm a die hard flyers fan, and I just don't see the Karma with the team. I don't see the entire team chemistry right now.

Tonight Malkin and Crosby were virtually invisible, the Flyers defense has done a great job this series, and Fleury has been there to take care of the Flyers offense. The Pens won't go far in the playoffs this year, they don't look that great

Its not so much on the players as it is the refs. While it does seem that in a lot of cases like that guys do intentionally slide towards the net in hopes of taking the puck with them, I think the league and the refs need to discourage it. I think a play like that should simply result in a whistle for incidental contact and a face off in the zone. I mean there is really no way for a goalie to stop a guy sliding in with momentum.

Yeah that makes since. So if there is a player sliding towards the crease and the puck in headed to or in the crease just blow it dead. That would keep the collisions down.

1 - Crosby goal was good, I hate him, but he crashed the net and did get a stick on it, Kennedy goal was also nice

2 - Goalie interference/tripping penalty wasnt a good call imo, regardless, Fleury stood on his head so it didnt really matter, if you cant score you cant win

What happened to all the "CROSBY SUCKS!" chants during the game? Crosby and Malkin are #1 and #2 in playoff scoring. Crosby scoring that goal and frosting 20,000 fans was awesome. LETS GO PENS!

    Wooooooooooooooooooooooo!

the terribel officiating strikes again. Crosby crashes marty, and kicks the puck in, and its called a good goal. Rediculous. The nhl will ensure they get a washington pittsburgh matchup. The nhl is turning into a joke, and is slowly putting itself out of business.

When i was started playing sports my dad pounded into my head the following...

"You don't lose because of officiating, you win in spite of it".

Will always be true. Good post greg.

The whole "blame the officials" bs needs to stop. Hockey is not fixed. Everyone wants to look for excuses why their team loses, but at the end of the day, week, or season, it still shows up as an L. It's literally every game now. Philly fans have always done it, but lately its everyone. Devils, Ducks, and Flyers fans tonight, Ranger fans last night, Carolina fans the night before; and those are just the games I've followed closely. The officiating is what it is. Was I ****** tonight about the Devils getting jobbed on the 3rd goal against, and arguably (although not really) again on the 4th? Sure. But that stuff happens, and the playoffs are all about capitalizing on bounces and breaks. Bottom line is that in a 7 game series, the team that wins 4 is the better team, and it has nothing to do with the refs.
