Autos Through E-mails Success Thread

I sent to Chizik in like March or February and still haven't got him (although I have been told it is on the way) So if your files don't go that far back, that may be what happened. lol Hopefully mine will come soon.

I do live obscenely close to Auburn, about 30 minutes. It may be because of my proximity or the fact I am an Alumni!

And my excel file goes back to 2003!

Looks like we are coming to an end of an era! There was a time not too long ago that you could get most college coaches autographs with nothing more than an email request. I went through and attempted about 30 college basketball coaches the other day. I was shocked with the emails that came back to me. I heard from personal assistants telling me that they no longer do that type of thing. I heard from community relations people to follow a link to submit permission to mail to coach and then after it is ok you can provide item and return postage ( those were the good ones!) I was told of $25 fees for charity for a coaches signature. It was amazing. I did get a few positive emails saying that I had an auto on the way, but wow was I shocked at how that part of this hobby has changed! Should I be lucky enough to get a few in I will post them!

I recently started emailing (two days ago) and so far I've gotten nothing which is to be expected; but some college programs are asking me to sign a letter of request for NCAA rules. No big deal, but just goes to show that they don't want any possible rule sanctions?

Well in response to Indyreds, that is the positive and negative about a site like this. You like to know who is giving out autos, but at the same time if a bunch of people ask the same person than things can change quickly. Perfect example is I sent a email request to Ben Crenshaw, got a great auto in the mail, My brother sent back another request 2 weeks later for his son and was told to mail it in.

Yeah, I have gotten some coaches since as well. It just seems like fewer are doing so. More people are doing this and the items I am getting seem to be getting worse overall. For instance Dawn Staley (former Gold Medalist and famous basketballer) sent me a huge autographed poster when I requested it a few seasons ago. She now sends a photo out to requests. Programs like Notre Dame make you jump through hoops. Still there are some nice graphs to be had. Lee Greenwood just sent a nice auto 8x10 to my home. It will be a real nice gift for my mother who is a huge fan of his! Hope that you all have great successes. Oh the Lee Greenwood was a request for his website.
