They could put the arena right next door to toronto, and sell them both out. Same thing with Montreal, although Montreal wouldnt. The french have two things, their religion and the Les Habs.

Logical places then would be Saskatoon, Winnipeg, or the Maritimes.
Bettman is being a total idiot about this. I don't think he has a clue what he is doing.

It'll sell out, business could boom in Toronto, but putting it in a smaller city could make that city grow, all in all possibly helping Canada? I have been for more teams in Canada. NYI, PHX, ATL (wouldn't like that one).. I mean nothing here in the States is turning hockey on...

For all interested, read this article from Bob McKenzie from TSN (http://www.tsn.ca/columnists/bob_mckenzie/?id=277696)
It pretty much outlines what Balsillie is trying to do, and how the NHL is going to try and stop him. I don't think there is anyway that Balsillie will be able to move this team, but it should be pretty interesting watching him try.

I just wathed an interview with Buttman on CBC, and did he ever looked like he was backed in a corner, with egg on his face, and a wedgie pulled all the way up to his dunce cap.
He did a tremendous amount of twitching, and blinking, that really shot out panic, and fear. Anyone who can read body language like that would easily see that he is quite perpensive, and already Heavily nervous of the notion that something he envisions, is starting to crack, and fall apart.
You know really, just for argument sake. In haste we in Canada think oh boy what an opportunity to get another team (back), and chalk it up to our national pride, but in thinking about Phoenix. That sucks!
There is still a long proscess to go to determine whether or not the franchise will leave. When it goes to bankruptcy court, other offers have to be put forward in like an auction, and if nothing is determined then, the league and it's governors still have to ok the sell and the move, for the best interests of the league anyway.
It's not a done deal by far, but will be interesting for sure to see how it pans out.

Saskatoon can't support the Blades let alone a NHL team.

My question is, what would this mean for Buffalo? I know they draw a lot of support from that area. Not knocking sabres fans, some of the best in hockey, but geographically speaking, would a move like this hurt their market?

if the Coyotes aren't allowed to move or be sold, won't the team just not exist anymore? I mean you can't force someone to keep dumping money into a sinking ship can you?
