There is nothing logical about putting a team into the Maritimes. You've got the time zone, the travel, and simply put, there isn't an arena or local population in all of the region that could support an NHL franchise. Halifax? The Metro Centre makes the Mellon Arena seem like a sparkling new venue, and there is an entrenched opposition to new things that would develop the city. The population of the HRM may be around the 350K mark, but a lot of that is university students that can't shell out NHL ticket prices. The Moncton Coliseum holds 7200 people.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

I think another team in Southern Ontario makes the most sense. The area is filled with die-hard hockey fans and corporations that would help keep a team going forever and not just a decade. I'm not sure what to think of as the best location in Southern Ontario for the NHL. Hamilton or Kitchener seems like a good idea at first, but then again a that may take away more fans from Buffalo compared to a team in Vaughn. Vaughn is still a very central location to the fans and yet I'm sure the ACC will still sell out night after night. The next thing I can't wrap my head around is calling a team the Vaughn....(Coyotes?). It might be best to name the team after Toronto. Even the Sens play in Kanata and are names after Ottawa.
Imagine the 401 between the DVP and Hwy. 400 during rush hour on a game day for both the Maple Leafs and a team in Vaughn. Better yet, imagine the QEW on during rush hour on a game day for both the Maple Leafs and a team in Hamilton!

Realistically I know that! I am just pining out something that can be an exciting thought. It's just my wishful thinking there, and yes the CUC on any given night only is 35% full at times. I don't cheer for the blades anyway. I only go when the Warriors are in town. Not that I was too excited about that proposition this year.
Hey! Lets move them to Moose Jaw instead! hahaSearching for: Jagr, Palffy, Stumpel, and Boyd

Hamilton makes the most sense to me. It's about the size of Winnipeg but has much more people in the surrounding area.
Kitchener seems too small to me. There can't be more than 250,000 people in Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge.
What about Quebec City? I wouldn't mind seeing the Nordiques come back.
I'd be against Vaughan or Mississauga or anything bordering Toronto. I'd rather see another city get the boost of an NHL team. The GTA already has one, they'll be fine without another one.

Holy turn of events.
Gretzky says if the Yotes move to Ontario, he won't go with them.
Also The Phoenix Coyotes booster club started their own web site. "Keep it Six"
They have 35 or 350 members.
Make it 7 has over 90,000 members. lolLast edited by sholi2000; 05-07-2009 at 11:20 PM.
