Just trying to enjoy the playoffs.

    Cnshockey,

If you listened to the game they played Ozzy made some key saves. That one he snapped out of the air when not seeing anything for like 9 minutes. As the announcer said people do not understand how hard it is to be ready when you don't see any action then you must be prepared when it comes.

Also, you mention that Roberto has had a bad team in Florida. Where they any worse than the Blues or the Islanders. If you want to share facts please share them all as Ozzy did just alright with those team. Like Roberto he didn't take them to the Cup so I think that argument is moot. Who would I choose I would say Roberto. But the thing is Ozzy been there done that and he been sent packing, rode the pine, and he just a Class act guy who happens to be one of the all time winningest goalies. I would take that kind of person on my team any day. If he would have stayed in Detroit would his stats even be padded that much more?

    Don

Thats all we can do with our team out of the playoffs....bring reality to bias fans .......although I do not blame anyone for sticking up for their team....Actually - I love it...shows some passionate fans out there....

    Don -
I hear ya and I agree as you can see in a previous post - Osgood does not have a losing season in his NHL career - Hats off to him on that...very rare....but would his Playoff stats be padded if he stayed with Detroit....
    ABSOLUTELY!
He is 7-12 (all 3 first round loses) about 2.50GAA and .903(ish) without having Detroit team in front of him.....

So I agree he is a very good goalie and possibly to some extent a great goalie....but not elite....If most his career would have been on another team besides Detroit he would not be anywhere close to what he is today...

so how can you even say Luongo is great when he couldnt even take the panthers to the playoffs...and Ozzy at least got in...that makes no sense to me. Luongo has proven nothing to me...until he proves he can win games on his own...then hes no better (and not even as good) as Ozzy.

Luongo is a great goalie. Just because he had 2 bad games or something that cost his team doesn't mean anything. He doesn't have elite players in front of him. Sure he has good ones, but not superstars.

And as far as you insulting Tim Thomas -

He currently has a 1.77 GAA and .937 SV% in the playoffs compared to Osgood's 1.97 GAA, and .923 SV%

    As for regular season -

    Thomas - 2.10 GAA, .933 SV% (Both league leading)
    Osgood - 3.09 GAA, .887 SV% (Ranked 41st in GAA, 45th in SV%)

Don't insult Tim Thomas, his stats kill Osgood's.

Please re-read what you quoted from me...There is no mention that Luongo is an elite Goalie...actually no mention of Luongo at all.....I am merely stating that Osgood is a very good goalie...but not elite....Conklin would be winning/losing games for Detroit just the same....

Thomas is playing out of his mind.....but he has to play like his stats show to get out of this series.....and if they win the next game play Was/Pits.....It wont be easy but will be a good test to show how far he can take the Bruins....

LOL i love how you all bring up the regular season which counts for nothing. Pavel Datsyuk is certainly proving this statement to be true.

    Chris,
I agree to a certain extent but I ask you this 7 and 12 for what teams? Where any of them power houses (NOT). Look at guys that you want to name as Elite goalies and please do not say Roy or Marty as they have had great teams in front of them their the majority of their career. I will even defend that with the Devils being elite as they play a defensive game with a thin margin of error but it is conducive for their style to get wins time in time out. As Marty did lose in the first round did he not. Does that make him not Elite?

Luongo is a great goalie. Just because he had 2 bad games or something that cost his team doesn't mean anything. He doesn't have elite players in front of him. Sure he has good ones, but not superstars.

Roberto has had great games but again he not been the x factor in taking his team to the CUP which is the bottom line. Everything is measure by that. Just like Ozzie takes the heat if the Wings lose and if they win it because of all their firepower. The announcer say this over and over again and I don't think you can argue that.

If you want to talk regular season stats who has more wins over the course of their career? Your going to say that doesn't matter so let me ask you this? Who has increased their save percentage more from regular season to the playoffs? Please let me know that?

p.s. Stats can be molded into any shape or form. For Osgood it does not matter what he does. As mentioned above he will get the blame if they lose or if he wins that his team did it all.

bummer the ducks win game 6. Osgood played a great game...both ducks goals were off of deflections and/or powerplays..cant blame ozzy there. Wings just didnt get the bounces tonight. Also its really disgusting to see Getzlaf and Neidermeyer acting like total goons after the game was over. Also the classless Cory Perry trying to beat up Brian Rafalski who is just coming off of an injury. The league should suspend the ducks players, but the system is screwed up and will never penalize them for fighting after the whistle. Bunch of dirty goons. Hope the wings pull out the game 7 victory.

You have to give the Ducks their due. They are a good team. Of course if we win we will be happy if we lose it will be remembered that we lost a chance for a possible win by the you know what call. Of course I know we need to get over it as everyone else would LOL.

Everyone gets some breaks here and there. Just might be our bad bounce this time. Well at least your man Franzen scored again.

if people are worried about Rafalski then he shouldn't be on the ice. He was cleared to play and take all the punishment of playoff hockey

The only thing I believe should be looked at by the league is the elbow that Niedemeyer threw at Datsuk. That was totally uncalled for and clear intent to injure after the final horn had sounded.
