I agree with Walter Sobchak. Either you continue on completely, or you stop now. If you decide to only go for his rookie year stuff, once you're done what then? He plays for a team you obviously don't like so it would be tough to enjoy having and chasing his cards.
Problem is(if you choose to sell): do you sell now, or wait to see how he does at the beginning of the season? Do you think his value will be higher now or later?Last edited by Captngeetch; 06-30-2009 at 10:24 PM.

replied in red. still no clue what to do. I feel so unmotivated to continue but I know I won't be able to get close to what i put into the PC. And just keeping what I have will annoy me having almost half his cards with nothing to do with them.

Dude, you need to lighten up. And you said it yourself, if Gretzky can get traded then...................?
So I guess that means you cannot collect anymore because ANY player can go at ANY time.
I think Kopitar was a great answer from that guy. He, more than anyone else, is likely to stay in LA.
And even you don't think much of Schenn, "hate" is a strong word. Plus, when you are a "fan" of a "team" don't you cheer for the logo on the front not the name on the back?
C'mon dude, get out of your funk and relax, don't be so downtrodden all the time..........

You need to make a choice for yourself.

yeah but there are players i don't like. aka frolov and bernier. but the thing i'm trying to get across barrie is it's near impossible to predict who will actually stay with their team for a LONG time or their whole career. its a gamble and it needs to be calculated
oh lol. ive actually considering it and you just sparked my interest again
the reason i collected him was he went to my 2nd favorite college, BC, and was on my favorite team. he's no long on my favorite team so...

but he still went to your 2nd favorite college. so atleast there is still something that can connect him and a reason to collect him as PC. The only other thing is find your 2nd favorite team what players are on that team that you like and most likey won't move to an other team.

I think in a market like today, you have to collect players and stick with them for being a player you like and teams and stick with them because you like the team. It's too risky to collect a player because he plays for your team because as everyone is saying....if Gretzky can get traded. I collect Luke Schenn and I am a Maple Leafs fan, BUT when I heard the possible rumours of Schenn getting traded to move up in the draft I was more than prepared to keep collecting him in a Lightning or Kings Uniform. I like his style and he seems like a pretty down to earth guy. There will rarely EVER be an Yzerman situation in hockey EVER again where you start and retire with the same team----Sakic as well even though they moved. I wonder how long it will be before Malkin and Crosby are split up by trade. That's what makes the choice of collecting a player BECAUSE he plays on your team so hard to justify. If you don't like him as a player and you know you will never follow him now that he's not on LA.....dump him now.

the rumors are JMFJ is going to be traded/walk since he's asking an insane amound (yet i believe both rumors are false)
