Ok....Infractions to all the Ranger Haters in this thread ! lol....and the Rangers stopped the Retirement home side business for the most part...Boyle could look real good with his butt is Marty's face next season.....as for the collection, I agree with the majority...finish out this years releases and call it done....who know's he may blossom and some Rangers fan might be lookng to trade for them

Finish off the rookie year stuff. Who knows, maybe he'll improve, and then just like it goes down all the time in NY, become vastly overrated and you could make a killing if you wanted to unload it.

I say Boyle isn't going to amount to much of anything in the NHL, give it up and move on to a different player.

Id either stop completely, or continue completely. If you continue with his rookie year stuff and then quit it would be a huge waste of more money on a player you no longer collect. I feel like I would just be bothered everytime I looked at the collection if I kept a player PC I didnt want anymore just because he was wearing my teams colors. It seems to me as if your clearly not as passionate about Boyle as you were when he was a King. Its a tough call though on whether to quit or continue. If you do quit, it would be VERY difficult to move cards of a underachieving player in his old uniform. Even if he does improve on NY, many people will only want cards of him in a rangers uniform. But to continue collecting him would be bad to because you would be pumping more money into a player you lost your passion for...

Youre in a tough situation buddy. Either way it would be pretty much impossible to recoup even half of what you have into your Boyle collection.

Id stop the bleeding...and try to deal the Boyles to an avid Rangers fan with high hopes for the kid...

If you do drop him..... I'd stronly suggest you move onto someone that you figure you would probably keep going with, even if he was traded.

I agree, collect someone you will stick with. That would mean picking someone you know will be a star or at least has the potential to be in the league awhile.

Also try and find a player you think will stay with your team which I know is hard to predict nowadays.

I know it is always fun collecting a guy on my team hence how I got stuck on Rob Blake almost 20 years ago. Now the same has happened with my son and his collection of Anze Kopitar.

Guys like Kopitar, Jack Johnson and Doughty aren't leaving LA anytime soon so they are solid bets.

How about Brayden Schenn? He likely won't have rookie cards this coming year (maybe) and you could save up for him and finish filling the holes in your Boyle PC in the interim.

    1. i HATE schenn. it was a miracle I DIDNT throw the remote through the screen
    2. you haven't been paying attention huh barry? the rumors are JMFJ is going to be traded/walk since he's asking an insane amound (yet i believe both rumors are false)
    3. never say never. if gretzky can get traded....
    4. I have pc guys in mind but they won't have rookie cards for a bit (Voinov and Loktionov, mainly lokti)

See this is how i feel. I would have continued to collect boyle if he went to a team I like IE phoenix/hamilton/yotes/bankruptcy, flames, avs, sens, CBJ. I don't like the rangers. Rich's post sums up sorta how I feel. Its going to be impossible to get back what i put into the PC but I know that after I stop getting cards of boyle, I am going to regret getting the ones after he was traded (barring a miracle where he becomes a superstar).

    thanks for the worthless post.....

    thanks for the worthless post.....

First, why did the guy posting Kopitar make a worthless comment? Kopitar is the cornerstone of the franchise, nothing wrong with him............geez.

As far as never say never, sure, I get that, but you still can take a "calculated risk" on a guy who has a good shot of staying with the team for hsi career?

Why do "hate" Schenn? He hasn't even played a game yet for LA? Did you "hate" Doughty when he got drafted? Or Kopitar?

I think Schenn will do fine and be either a great player for our team or a nice addition to a trade package to acquire something/someone better.

Oh yeah, it's BarrIE with an "IE", like Ontario, not Barry, like steroids man Bonds.

And finally, don't be so bitter son, you are a big ball of sourpuss the past 6 months, ease off the throttle turbo! Lighten up SON!

I feel your pain, I was a huge Probert collector when he was with the Wings. Somehow seeing him in the Blackhawks jersey just didnt' feel right to me.

If I look at the card if I have any other feeling then "sweet", I move on to another player.
