08/09 The Cup Checklist is UP!

After a season where SP Game Used was the only set to feature him.... I was looking foward to somthing nice out of The Cup (he's had at least 1 card in all of the previous releases).

Oh well, guess I'll just save my money.

You know dude, you can't win either way with UD these days when it comes to chasing a certain veteran player. (the rookies are always givens)

You hope for nice Cup cards and then you get SHELLED with more than you can handle or you end up with nothing. There is no middle ground with UD.

Honestly, I'd be happy with nothing with the economy the way it is, no one wants to try and chase cards as much as they used to. I bet you'd probably be pulling your hair out if Ranford got in.

I am just glad I don't collect Blake Wheeler anymore! He is in pretty much every subset!!!

ZERO Rob Blake cards.

That is a good thing after chasing a Property Of... for Blake THREE straight years.

Quick fact (I think), as scary as this sounds, only Gretzky, Larry Robinson and Blake had a PO the first three years of The Cup..........

Lots and lots of Carey Price in this set. There's very little in the way of other current/non-retired Canadiens (outside the rookies) content in this set - Koivu's only in a couple subsets and there's a handful of Kovalevs (3 shields!?!) but not a lot beyond that. Oh well, it's all about #31 for me anyways!

Chasing rookie plates is just asking for trouble IMO. I think because of the massive saturation of them they are somewhat worthless combined with the fact you likely never see them all.

The veteran plates are a better way to go if you collect a vet. Only 4 to chase and a very attainable goal.

Yeah that Masterpieces section took a lot of scrolling to get through.

Aspirants to the SCF Supercollector program will be happy to know that 1/1s are being given separate consideration from the rest of the player's card list.

Yeah I saw that - eeps. Methinks I'll just keep the ambitions low; at this point I'll just be happy to finally have the ability to get my first Carey Cup card. Last year's stuff still goes for sky-high.
