I must be in the wrong league of trading then! I never have had a card book 100 and sell of 200. Rarely in 20 years Have I seen that. Only times this happens is when a cards are brand new. I have always settled for the market to settle, i guess it is just me!

I thought it was obvious the way I wrote the statement that I was using it as an example, not a real life situation.

Wouldn't you say that it also happens when a player gets hot during the season, sell values can skyrocket way over BV.

In the middle of the 2008 season you paid close to $30 or $40 for a Bowman Sterling James Harrison. Beckett had them at $15. The newest Beckett I have shows an up arrow at $25 and they are going for $15. It moves like a dinosaur.

I also recently bought a quad 2002 SP Authentic jersey with Warner on it for $1.35. It books at $40. I could come up with a hundred examples for stuff I have bought over the last month.

How do those reflect current market prices for the cards? BV is all but useless.

I am curious as to how ebay does not truly reflect the sell value as well. What variables might you be talking about?

because a lot of sellers use shills, and other sellers have ungodly high BINS, and some moron will buy it and will cause the average price to be higher.
how about those for 2 reasons?

I think it's perfectly fine to use either BV or SV as your trading platform. What is extra sickening is the toolboxes that use whichever one gives them the advantage at the time. They adamantly defend their $100 BV card when trading, even when it sells for 10% of that all day long, but the times they happen to have the card selling for over BV then they want trading in their favor for it.

Unfortunately it's not usually worth explaining their hypocracy to them as they just don't get it.
