16 for only 3 more days
I can say this, i've disputed trades/been ripped off by more adults than "minors" in my trading career, which includes the almost 200 feedback on ebay i have and near 1,400 online trades that i've done since December 2007, if we put tags that say i'm a minor, how about tags for those who smoke? or a tag for those who are older than 50?
My point on that is its unjust and unfair, there are plenty of younger traders than adults, and adults from my expierence have an attitude issue with younger people, putting a tag only makes that problem bigger...
In future trades with those who have no car access, tell them to stick a few stamps on the mailer and put in the mailbox, it'll get to ya just ine, if they wont then they're just BSing youHidden Content

Trust me in general I have no attitude with teenagers. I am a high school and collegiate sports official and I make my living relating to teenagers and helping them keep their heads cool in competitive situations. Many of my best mail order customers are in the 16-20 range so I owe alot of my business to that age bracket.
Have a great 17th B-day. I spent mine at a hockey tournament in Barrie Ontario and thought it was fun to set off all of the hotel fire alarms at midnight. Like I said... I wasn't the most responsible teen lol ;)
The difference between the under 18 tag and the tags you mention is that yours don't have any impact on the legal responsibilities of that trader and unless they are in the hospital dying of lung cancer or walking around an old folks home pinching nurses on the backside and muttering something on martians will understand, smoking or over 50 won't impact their ability to execute a trade in a timely fashion. And again from a legal aspect, in most states, a 13-15 year old cannot enter into or be responsible for a contract. So if someone of that age stiffs you, sure you can file a police/mail fraud complaint but unless you are going to take on the parents (and over cardboard who really is going to?) you are SOL if a 14 year old rips you off.

ok... I am typing this post because there is NO WAY I am going to bed tonight resting on post 666 LOL.
Goodnight all. I truly mean no offense to anyone under 18 here. 95% of my dealings here have been problem free with traders of ages. It is the 5% that make me GRRRRR .

I completely agree with the icon for under 16 years of age next to members names for many reasons. This is just one example, and it's not a very good one, but it kinda gets my point across lol. Not to long ago I received an infraction on this site for an incident I had with another member on here, that I am 95% positive was under the age of 16, and which I didn't know at the time. Basically what happened was the Yankees blew the lead one night and lost the game, and someone in the Yankee thread quoted one of my responses and said something like "how do you feel about the bullpen blowing the lead tonight?" It was in response to a previous comment I made about some other horrible thing going wrong for the Yankees. Now, I misinterpreted his comment and thought he was just messing with me and trying to get me going, which is completely fine if that was the case, I love a good sports fight/joking session. So I jokingly responded back "the same way your parents felt when you were born." Honestly I was jsut trying to have a little fun with the kid thinking he was trying to do the same thing. He of course took the comment very seriously and was very offended and told a mod, which resulted in me getting an infraction and having to sincerely apologize, which I had no problem doing since I really felt bad.
Very long story short, if I had known he was just a young kid, I would have defintiely been able to accurately interpret his original comment and never would have made a comment like that. I just think the age icon would only help the site in so many ways, and there is nothing I can think of that would make it a bad idea. I remember reading an article on this site a while back about some guy that bought a 1952 Mantle or some ridiculously expensive card from a young kid for next to nothing, and how that was illegal or something. Not sure the exact details but that is another reason. Sorry for the long post guys.

If you put a logo stating who is 16 and who is older your basically telling every perv on the internet who is a kid and who isn't.
And then suddenly, that perv has a 1/1 Michael Jordon auto
Then your telling them there age, and there address.
Not a smart idea IMO
For the record, I don't use the trade manager and not many people I trade with do

Question: Being new to trading and in the process of trading with three to four people at this moment, how is it you don't use the Trade Manager? As in, you report the trade but don't bother to "update," or do you just create a de facto trade between people?

I think this would be terribly unfair to people under 16 like myself.
a.some people would be iggnorant and decide not to trade with us just because where under 16
b.what if some of them are 14 or 15 year olds with permits?
