I think this would be terribly unfair to people under 16 like myself.

a.some people would be iggnorant and decide not to trade with us just because where under 16
b.what if some of them are 14 or 15 year olds with permits?

having a permit really doesn't mean much because you still need someone 18 or older in the car with you

Nope, a permit is allowing you to drive under the care of someone over 18 with a license. You have to have a license to drive by yourself - a permit has many restrictions, and in alot of states, you cannot drive after 12 AM with a permit, no matter who's in the vehicle.

Anyway, as for this suggestion, I understand what you are saying, but I do not think it would be a good idea for a number of reasons - one being privacy - that would essentially be violated with a feature such as this.

This has been bought up time and time again. But it has been shot down just as this.
There is a MSF for bad traders.
Just becuase someone is under 16 does not make them a bad trader.
As you are trying to say.
If you really look at it more adults scam people. Than kids do.
So of thats true should we slap on a MSF badge on everyone 18 and up

Actually what you just said is false. Since contracts with minors are not legally enforceable there is nothing discrimanatory about making sure that you are not trading with a minor.


This link explains how if you make a trade with a 15 year old, they can at age 17 legally demand their cards back.

I can post further links if you want more proof but the fact is if you traded a 14 year old a Michael Vick rookie two years ago that was worth $300 and now is only $100 and the now 16 year old wants his Brett Favre autograph back, he can legally demand that you return his card (and of course he must return the Vick) Bottom line, a minor can void his or her contract at any time before they turn 18 (and sometimes after 18 can void contracts they made before 18)

And if your comments are directed at me I never EVER said ANYTHING under 18 traders being more likely to scam people. So I suggest you read what I wrote before telling me what I was trying to say.
90+% of people on here under and over 18 are great to deal with.
My point that I am making and will not apologize for saying is that I believe as an adult I have a right to know if the person I am making a contract with is legall going to be legally binded by it. And on a more everyday note, can the person I am trading with take responsibility on their own for getting stuff mailed or will the have to wait for a parent to do it for them.

Out of the thousands of transactions I have done, in two instances, I have had a run in with the "minor" issue. Once I was contacted by the parents after a purchase, and was actually threatened to be sued weeks after the purchase. The kid didnt have permission from dad and mom to sell the cards, that were his.
Second I lost cash on a deal when the minor didnt deliver, I was told nothing could be done because I did attempt to enter into a "contract" with a minor. There was the theft issue but that is another story.
On the otherhand, I have probably dealt with minors hundreds of times and not even known it-a good trader is a good trader

you do bring up some good points.
but if this is the same disagreements we had on this forum a few months ago.
and nothing happen and i doubt anything will ever happen.
it only seems of few of the 20k plus members on this site think this should happen.

No worries :) I just don't want everyone under 18 here thinking that I have a problem with kids because as I said earlier my "day job" involves interacting with teens on an almost daily basis and I love my job.
At this point I was mainly annoyed by a couple of instances of the "my parents forgot to ship" excuse and it got me thinking back to my days sitting in stuffy business law classes in college and I started remembering all of that contract stuff.....

Can't drive after 12AM when your 16 either..lol only one more night then no more curfew!
