Don't tell me you really believe that they do it on purpose! How on earth will they know what's inside the envelope?

If you don't want customs to open your envelope and look at your cards, have the person write on the custom claim paper "cards" and check off gift instead of writing hockey cards...also if you write on the custom claim form that the card is worth 75$ don't you think odds are it won't make it to destination?

Its not that easy. The package I'm talking about, the US resident on this site that sent me the package did exactly that. He had "Cards" and "Gift" on it... The package wasn't ripped open, the package was squat, stepped on, or something heavy was on it. The person even put "FRAGILE" all over the envelope. The guy even had protection inside for me... The lot. And they still managed to mess it up.

shouldn't we just be able to pay for a service and have it done, without all the deception??? We should demand they give the service we pay for.
The certainly don't mind raising the price every year!
The PO business was nearly dead untill online trading made them rich again. The first thing they did was hike the rates and continue to do so... to keep cashing in.

I am the person that sent it and I can tell you I send ALL packaged the same way. I put "fragile" on the front and I put in big letters "fragile" and "do not bend" on the back. I ALWAYS put GIFT on the customs form and never cards as it could give away what is inside. I also put either the decoys and/or a large wrapping of plastic bags around the top loaders just to make sure. It is beyond me how this package got damaged but I feel Dave is right in regards to the PO not caring. I couldn't have made it more obvious that it was fragile and yet the didn't give a crap.
I feel bad, even though I shipped it the way I shipped all my other 1000's of deals. Kep your head up Dave and don;t give up because of those jerks!

Nathan, you are the man. I have nothing but the utmost respect for you as a trader and as a person. You went above and beyond your shipping. There was no way possible to protect it more without putting two pieces of wood in the package.
Its not that I want to give up, but Nathan, I can't afford to be losing cards like this. I mean, that was the last of my good trade bait I sent you. I wanted to give it to you, because you've always hooked me up with awesome Bergerons.
Now I'm getting 120 Game Used cards for trade bait this week or next (if they aren't damaged) and there was awesome trade bait I was gonna pass on to someone for Bergerons, but I just can't. Once this bit of bait is gone, I'm done for a few months or a year. But I'm not sending them through the mail to get damaged packages in return.

I know everyone loves using padde envelopes, but what about small boxes? My dad used to get ones for small dental x-ray film that are a good size to use, VERY heavy duty, but obviously not everyone has access to. Even a 100 ct foldable box would be better. If you look at the way they recommend shiping graded cards to Beckett...
I keep all old scratched up single screw holders for shipping if needed.

So far this year i have recieved 4 destroyed packages from canada post, 2 not recieved at all. And 2 that i sent out got lost and 1 that i sent out got damaged and some of these are canada to canada. I was watching my maillady put the mail in the boxes one day and seen her drop a package of mine oin the water and let it sit there(not damaged) until after she had the rest of the mail in the boxes. From What i see and hear canada post employees are getting careless.
