I agree with this, I have some friends that are like that and they tried to get me to do some stuff. I rejected them. :)

I'm straight edge. turning 21 in August. I have been straight edge since i knew what it was... although i never smoked or drank before that. it is really tough with people around you who smoke and drink though. not because its tempting but because its annoying that they ask you to all the time. In my opinion its the way to go. I don't want to start a debate or anything but the idea of breaking the law and getting a "buzz" for a few hours does nothing for me.

I'm edge, and I get mouthed for it alot. But it's worth it being poison free. This is a good merch site if your looking for clothes:

I know that a lot of people see straight edge as violent people. but me and my friends who are straight edge aren't violent at all. Don't get me wrong we can get pretty rowdy as shows, but so does everyone else. I know none of us have gotten into fights with non edge kids for stereotypical reasons. Although i am sure it happens, we are not all like that.

I was that way before it even had a name. Then once I got out of high school it was time to have fun. :P Just the alcohol, still won't touch recreational drugs and never will unless it's legal.

WOW that's not true, you are obviously ignorant on the topic. I know a thousand edge kids and they wouldn't hurt a fly. The most violent act edge people do is mosh at metal/hardcore shows. My drugged out friends have threatened to beat me up because I'm trying to get them to stop and clean up, but they're so addicted they can't see how they're treating someone who is considered a "friend". But you don't see that in the news do you?
Stay clean guys, and don't let ridiculous messages like this change anything you stand for!

Yes, it's really ridiculous. It seems that everything possible can be made negative by the media.
