Picked Mason Raymond because he is one of the fastest skater in the NHL and because I met him last year. He was really nice. He is also one of my favourite players.

Picked Ryan Kesler because he is one of my favourite players on the Canucks (Raymond, and Luongo being my 2 other favourite players) He has grit, can score, can fight, can do almost anythinng.
Im planning on meeting him in December at one of his signings. Am very excited.

    And here we go

Paul Stastny - Loved the way he played in college, always been an Avs fan, seemed like a fitting PC since Roy was a little pricey.

Ryan Miller - My favorite goalie aside from Roy, and from the hometown Sabres. Still say he's one of the most underrated goalies in the NHL

Cal Clutterbuck - Started out, wow that guy has the coolest name ever. Watched another game, loved his intensity and the way he played the game. Does an amazing job giving 110% on every shift, and irritates the other team so much

Lee Stempniak - This is the best reasoning behind a PC I believe. I'm from West Seneca, New York, and Lee Stempniak grew up playing his youth hockey at an ice rink located 30 seconds from my house. His parents still live about 5 minutes away, and his brother is basically my insurance agent now lol. Love giving the love to hometown people when they make it. Always liked Lee ever since he made it, and I still do.

    Here goes my PC guys:

Dominik Hasek (old PC): I grew up watching the Dominator play for my hometown Sabres and watching him play in net all those years is what really got me to love the game of hockey.

Rob Schremp: Not gonna lie, originally I fell in love with his amazing puck-handling skills I saw on his YouTube but then I watched him play in actual game situations and I am just amazed at his skill set.

Tim Kennedy: Loved watching him in college for Michigan St. and was ecstatic to see him get drafted by the Sabres. He's also a local kid (from about 10-15 minutes away from where I live) and as Derrick said about our true homeboy Lee, I just love to see guys from Buffalo make it.

Tyler Myers: I love looking at pre-draft rankings and when I saw Myers name on the list of top prospects and thought to myself, now here is what the Sabres need. A big D-Man who can skate, shoot, and play a great defensive game. I followed him for a few months leading up to the draft and watched patiently to see who'd draft him. When the Sabres took him I was thrilled and couldn't wait to see him play at the NHL level.

Jaromir Jagr - One of the main reasons i started collecting hockey cards, i always played with the penguins on nhl 2000 cause of him and tom barrasso. a few days later i got a couple packs of 99-00 victory and pulled a card of him...and here we are now.

Ilya Kovalchuk - First year i watched the draft back when i was like 8, heard all the hype about kovy and saw some of his skills in promo videos...i was amazed. my first beckett had a cover of him and spezza, i went through it everyday, even brought it to school. of course pulling his yg around that time wasn't too bad either lol.

Ryan Callahan - Noticed in 06-07 that they would bring him up for a game, send him back down a couple times...finally kept him up towards the end of the year and i loved watching him play, his grit and intensity while only being 5'11 was amazing. also being from rochester is pretty cool, only 45 minutes away from me. he's definitely the main reason why i still watch the rangers.

Well the Newfies came about from being there partially, however before the 2008-2009 Season I didn't collect Ryder, Cleary, Or Clowe. Nevermind the 10-12 who came before them. However with last years rookie crop having 4 Newfoundland and Labrador players and 2 of them being from my hometown of Labrador City, what started as 2 (LaCosta and Pelletier) quickly turned into 4 rookies and 7 total players.

Luke Schenn, because I needed a new focus for the Maple Leafs and he seemed like the way to go.

By the way; looking for all of the players in my sig, and any Newfoundland and Labrador born player. As well as Luke Schenn and now the Monster.

I started out collecting all red wings, but once scotty bowman assesed Datsyuk i watched him for a short while and knew it was destiny for me to collect him. I used to have a nice zetterberg collection but it got chop shopped to fund my datsyuk needs.

Threads like this are always fun.

Carey Price - he's the goaltender for the Montreal Canadiens. Nuff said.

Josh Gorges - he was the captain of the 2004 Memorial Cup Champions Kelowna Rockets, and when I heard he was traded from San Jose to Montreal, I was probably one of about 10 people who knew who he was. I remember the Canadiens' forums filled with "who?" posts, same with HI/O, and just about anywhere else. Most people were just happy that we got a #1 draft choice for Craig Rivet, but with Josh I knew we were getting a really good player. His first shift was an unmitigated disaster--he was a -2--but ever since then he's continually improved and has been a consistently reliable d-man. Plus we had a couple beers this summer.

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...
