I've never understood why Senator Byrd was still in office. His affiliation with the KKK alone should be enough for people not to vote for him, let alone the messed up things he's said. He's pretty much the poster boy for why there should be term limits for senators.
as for bowing at the alter of Obama, I don't really get that statement intimadator.

We need to concern ourselves right now, on what is being discussed behind closed doors. Who cares what they say about each other. They won't mind when they are signing behind doors.
Where is the transparency the democrats promised!

Political controversy ensued following remarks Lott made on December 5, 2002 at the 100th birthday party of Sen. Strom Thurmond of South Carolina. Thurmond ran for President of the United States in 1948 on the Dixiecrat (or States' Rights) ticket. Lott said: "When Strom Thurmond ran for president, we voted for him. We’re proud of it. And if the rest of the country had followed our lead, we wouldn't have had all these problems over the years, either."[13]
In 1948, Strom Thurmond wanted segregation and worse, wanted to keep jim crow laws and and other laws such as the grandfather clause in the south. He was a white supremacist pig whose slogan was "Segregation Now. Segregation Tomorrow. Segregation Forever."
Any man who supports what Thurmond believed here is a complete racist and bigot and should not be in office if one really believes in White Supremacy and "Segregation Forever." No double standard there. Just pure racism

You are making up most of that. He made a statement for a man who was dying and turned 100 hundred. He never said that segregation policies is what he wanted. You, much like all Democrats, read into the statement the way you want to. Democrats allow a man who was in the KKK for many years to become the Sr Most senator, but a man who makes a comment should be removed from office?
Anyone else notice that Reid and Byrd are the senior most senators in the Democratic party and both have made racial comments and one was a KKK member? What does it say when two of your senior most party members have race issues?

How can i be making up a quote. Also, please dont stereotype me. I did not stop stereotype you and say like all republicans, you only complain about democrats but never create your own plan of action and rather just criticize democrats.
"When Strom Thurmond ran for president, we voted for him. We’re proud of it. And if the rest of the country had followed our lead, we wouldn't have had all these problems over the years, either."
HE IS A RACIST BIGOT PIG from that quote. He voted for a racist. Hes proud of voting for a racist who was proud of jim crow laws. If the rest of the country banned blacks and other minorites, we would have no other problems. Thats the quote. Please tell me where i am making that up.

You'll have to point out where Lott said that...

Are you doubting that he said the quote? The quote is not in doubt, its the fact that he got fired (might be to extreme) but he is still a racist pig.
"When Strom Thurmond ran for president, we voted for him. We’re proud of it. And if the rest of the country had followed our lead, we wouldn't have had all these problems over the years, either." Thats the quote. I was just defining it to further demonstrate his racist attributes.
Also, if you really don't believe that Lott was a racist, how about the fact that he voted against the voting rights act of 1965, voted against the civil rights act, and opposed making Martin Luther King's birthday a federal holiday.
Yeah, he really isnt racist and im sure he didnt mean that quote. Democrats just spinned it. He really was saying that blacks are a great group of people.
