Dallas adding veteran leadership with Whitney and Jagr. Derek Roy will help them a lot as well. Great moves by Dallas so far.

Dallas making some noise with the 40+ crowd. That's decent money for him at this stage in his life.

Now I see why Bergevin said that the Habs have no interest in Jagr. Second year in a row that he's leveraged interest in playing in Montreal to a bigger contract elsewhere. Good on him, but he's going to get a frosty reception when Dallas comes to the Bell Centre.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Man, Dallas is sure putting together an offensive powerhouse.
Latest news: The Wings apparently offered Suter a 13yr/$90 mil. contract!

I don't see why he wouldn't take it.

Sounds like Suter has signed with the Wild for 13 years.
Pittsburgh and Detroit are out of the running for Parise. Countdown to Parise signing in Minnesota in 3...2...1...
Edit: Pierre LeBrun just confirmed Zach Parise signing with Minnesota as well.Last edited by flemingc04; 07-04-2012 at 12:20 PM.

Never a fan of these huge term contacts. As a Canucks fan, this should affect us more but I am not too worried. Parise is a great player but he's not Tier 1 elite status like the Sedins, Crosby, Stamkos etc...
Minny had to make a statement and I guess they did that.

Man these teams this year are really dishing out the money for run of the mill talent. Pick up your Parise and Suter cards in the Minnesota Wild bargain bin next year.

Definitely. Unfortunately, they still aren't that good and I honestly think will struggle to get that 7-8 spot in the playoffs. Neither Parise nor Suter are top 5 at their position and possibly not top 10. They just paid a TON of money for two great, but overrated players. As a Wing's fan we need SOMEONE half way decent defensively to be signed this offseason so I was fine with them overpaying. But to overpay for two players for 13 years is going to be brutal. Still, Wild do have a tough time getting free agents so you could look at it either way.
