I'm going to play the devils advocate and share my opinion. Its inappropriate for you to not agree with his shipping charge after you won the auctions. Why is it ok to argue the sellers terms after the fact? A more appropriate action would be to email him before the auctions ended to discuss special shipping terms. This kind of stuff rubs me the wrong way. When a person bids, that means you are agreeing to their terms.
chances are really good the seller will agree to whatever terms you dictate simply out of fear of receiving a negative, completely unfair to the seller. His cards, his prices, his terms and you agreed to them when you bid.
just my opinion.

You don't have to say you're playing devil's advocate, ultimately you're right. BUT............
Well, like I said, I did read and I did understand. But I thought common sense would kick in.........at some point he says to himself "It's gonna cost me about three bucks to mail this including postage, tax and a (new?) bubble mailer, how much can I get away with charging for shipping without coming off as a tool? Seven dollars? Eight?"
I've been buying on eBay for almost 15 years, this is only the second time this has ever happened to me. I've won multiples from a LOT of sellers who've had the same kind of stipulations in their auctions, but every one of them save for one and now this cool cat have charged the sensible rate.
I've also been selling on eBay for almost 15 years. My last bunch of auctions stated that shipping was three bucks and I'd try to combine wins as best I could and I left it at that. The end result was a 4.93 DSR for shipping. Because I'm not a jerk. Or at least I pick my moments........

It won't be. His justification............
"I place all cards in large bubble envelope and each card is placed in plastic sleeve, then hard plastic , and then top loader bag. I have never had any problems before with my shipping and shipping charges."
Thas life eh?

eBay steal question... What do I do??
So last night I found a engravatures prime of Jordan Nolan for $25 BIN so like anyone else I bought it an paid for it. I saw a Lewis and king had sold for $50 so I thought it was a good steal. Wake up this morning to the guy asking if I could cancel the deal because he meant to put $125. Now I don't mind that he made the mistake but the card is going into my kings collection and on every auction you go through a review to make sure everything is right. So my question is do I cancel the trade because of his mistake or do I tell him I still want the card and since I won the auction I should receive the card regardless of the error. Also if he decides not to ship the card does it go through ebay an I leave negative feedback? Fyi person has over 1000 feedback 100%. Any help or input is greatly appreciated!

Honestly all I can say if it his error, not yours, so he should take the lost and send you the card

Nothing wrong with him asking, but you are not obliged to satisfy the request. Mistakes happen, I've made tons of them when listing multiple cards and I always follow through. Yes if he doesn't send the card then that would mean a negative. If i was in your shoes i wouldn't agree to cancel, lol.

He should honor the auction, period. In his mind he is out $100 but realistically it would sell in the $40-$50 range...perhaps if you point that out to him along with your decline of his request, he might decide to honor the deal. If he doesn't, make sure you get it in writing that he is refusing to complete the deal and then leave a neg and report him to eBay using the appropriate tools in the Customer Service section.
