Hard to call it a shutdown when 83% of the federal government is still operating.

If this is such a non issue, then why did the Reps bother?

personally, I would hope they did it to try and find a solution to the crazy spending going on, but in reality, the republicans have their own agenda, which is only masked to look like they are interesting in helping america.

"We're gonna shut down the government if we don't get what we want! It will be horrible!"
"No don't!"
"Too late!"
"How could you?!"
"What, it's not that bad."
Hilarious.

The person initiating this photo must think the American public is naive enough to think that placing traffic cones is similar to the path the GOP has led the country down.

Maybe, or perhaps they are thinking that this country is run by a petty tyrant?

National Park Service officials cited the government shutdown as the reason for ordering an elderly Nevada couple out of their home, which sits on federal land.
"Unfortunately overnight stays are not permitted until a budget is passed and the park can reopen," an NPS spokesman explained to KTNV.
Ralph and Joyce Spencer, aged 80 and 77, respectively, own their home, but the government owns the land on which it sits.
"I had to be sure and get his walker and his scooter that he has to go in," Joyce Spencer told the local news outlet. "We're not hurt in any way except it might cost me if I have to go buy more pants."
Similarly, the NPS forced privately-operated inns on the Blue Ridge Parkway to close during the shut down.

And let's remember, in the 17 previous government shutdowns, these monuments were not closed.

Although President Obama
claims that he can’t avoid shutting down public sites and monuments, war memorials were in fact kept open during the 1995/1996 government shutdowns. The administration’s decision to barricade the Lincoln Memorial marks the first time in its history the memorial has been totally off limits to visitors during a shutdown.
The administration has also balked at efforts by non-governmental groups to maintain access to public sites.
But during the Clinton-era shutdown, World War II veterans
kept the Pearl Harbor memorial open.
“Despite the federal government
shutdown and an unrepaired sign that reads ‘Arizona Memorial closed,’ tourists are still getting expert commentary about the World War II memorial at Pearl Harbor,” wrote the Associated Press on January 1, 1996.
“It’s our way of helping to preserve the history of this place,” Bob Kinzler, president of the Aloha Chapter of the Pearl Harbor Survivors, told the AP.
Barricades went up in national
parks across Washington, D.C. Wednesday, including the Lincoln Memorial. This, too, was unprecedented.

So? If the Republican party didn't feel entitled to what they think instead of what has passed into law, this wouldn't be an issue in the first place. You can't create a problem and get mad at everyone else's reaction.

Nothing more than NOISE to distract from who and why this shutdown has occurred in the first place.
