1)FYI, that's how you guys get ALL your legislation passed.
2)Same was said about Medicare. Ever heard the phrase, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure"?
3)GOP repealed the law 41 times. Senate rejected that vote every time. What does that say?
Illegal, no. Immoral, yes.
Did the GOP gain or lose seats in the House and Senate during the last general election?
Should the current, or future current holders of the purse strings get to use those purse strings to derail any laws they choose? No.

Exactly. And guess what. In the last election they did not gain a single seat in the Senate. What does that say?

Jay, what did the bill contain with regards to the ACA? What affect would that have on the finances of the bill?

Here's an option. Pass a bill to fund everything including Obamacare, but only fund to the level of currently collected tax revenues. Problem solved and no debt ceiling increased needed.
Will there be hard choices? Sure, but a government should only spend what it can collect from it's citizens. This pay in the future scam cannot go on forever.

habs, nothing with funding it, but it had a one year delay on the individual mandate. this one year delay has been given out by obama to many others, just not the individual americans.
it also excluded congress, their staff, and obama from healthcare subsidies.

Good idea. Start with the defense budget. Surely you do not need 75% of that.

Doesn't mean they won't this time. There's no presidential election to focus on. Plus you had 2 guys that would have won but said something stupid and the media railed on them. They waxed the dems the first time this bill was passed. Hopefully it's round two in the senate this time. But to answer your question. It shows the American people are either stupid, complacent, or bought off.Last edited by sanfran22; 10-07-2013 at 03:51 PM.

It's one of the biggest chunks of spending, so to get to a balanced budget, it would have to be on the block.
