Not the same thing, secondly I can escape second hand smoke 99% of the time. My parents smoked when I was young, I never became a smoker. Women who drink,smoke,do drugs when they are pregnant are ignorant, and yes it is unfair to that baby, but they still have a chance. Abortion there is no chance.

Well I'm glad that you never became a smoker. I have just seen some studies that show that children exposed to secondhand smoke are more likely to become smokers. Yes they have a chance but it won't be a life lived to their maximum potential. I'm not saying they are better off dead. I'm saying that that mother has already made the choice for their child.

And yes men should have a say in whether or not the woman gets an abortion. I hope and pray that people do not choose to get an abortion but there are certain instances where they are needed.

That's why it's totally different. Just because your parents smoke, doesn't mean you will. You still have a choice. an unborn child has no choice in anything. It is relying on the mother. It's downright cruel and selfish to abort a baby because you don't want it. It should only be an option in extreme circumstances.

Yep, only of a crime was created (rape) or if their is serious medical issues invovled.

And I wasn't making a comparison between smoking and abortion in terms that they "kill"....

I was comparing how I can be Pro-choice for smoking but at the same time DISLIKE smoking.

I'm also Pro-choice for abortion even though I DISLIKE abortion as well.

But I'm not going to force a woman into doing something she doesn't want to do simply because I don't like it....that's dumb.

i dont like the fact that religious doctrine is playing a part in u.s. law,today the christians are all yeeaa,but tomorrow when the muslims or scientologist are trying to do the same i think their attitude will change

You don't see a different between Christians wanting to protect babies from being killed and Islamists wanting to flog rape victims if they can't produce multiple witnesses, hanging people for being homosexuals, "honor killings" or murdering individuals for apostasy?

That's what I've been saying. I'm anti-abortion but also pro choice. It should only have to be used for extreme cases. Women should never have to get one. They should feel morally obligated not to.

How can a doctor perform an abortion if it's illegal? They will be shipped off to jail.
