Here's a new one for you vets..
I purchased an item from a new seller on eBay. Once the auction closed, I promptly paid for the item using PayPal. The seller then shipped the item and I received it in the expected condition. I left positive feedback for a smooth transaction. About a week after receiving the item, the seller sent me a message asking me to pay for the item. I responded that I had already paid for the item and the transaction was still pending in my PayPal account - said that the user hasn't accepted the transaction yet. At that point, I assumed he had to wait a bit longer since he was a new seller. Out of an abundance of caution, I checked my bank statment to make sure the transaction actually went through, since I paid for two items from two sellers at once. Sure enough, there are two charges, one for each item in the expected amount.
Fast forward to today when I unexpectedly received an unpaid item notice. I checked my PayPal account again and see that the transaction is still listed as pending and the user hasn't accepted the transaction. When I go to the case, my only two options are to Pay for the Item or Contact the Seller. When I click Pay for the Item, it takes me to the transaction summary on eBay. Not that I would, but I don't even have the option to pay for the item again.
I've stressed to the seller that, at this point, I don't think there is anything I can do. It seems like the ball is in his court? Now the last thing I want, is a negative feed back, especially for an item I've already paid for.
Is there any action I can take to prompt PayPal to release the funds? I don't understand why eBay would allow a case to be submitted, when the item has already been paid for.
First off, you can't get a negative as a buyer. Second, I'm not sure how you paid but the seller shouldn't be able to open a case on you while the payment is pending. The only thing I can think of is that the seller has the wrong email address attached to his account, otherwise it would have went through and they wouldn't need to accept it. It would just go in their account.

You're just going to have to go 20th Century on this one and pick up the phone and give ebay a call. This sounds like something that should be easy to sort out if a pair of human eyes look at this, rather than dealing with emails and robots.

I would bet this is correct. Seller typed his email (for paypal) into eBay WRONG, and never got it. The payment is pending on an incorrect email address.
I've done it before. You should be able to cancel your payment, tell him to fix the info, and send again.

Quick question. I sell on ebay.ca, but with seller's fees about to be taxed, I was thinking maybe I should sell on ebay.com. At this point, is there any advantage whatsoever for me to sell on .ca? Aren't all listings visible on both?

Yeah, I think I may be done selling on eBay soon if I have to pay another 13% on top. Not too sure how this is all going to work yet since I haven't been around much the last 2 weeks, this morning was my first time reading about the new sales tax when selling from Canada.

I was watching this card, Lafleur is my pc. Didn't see this card often, it was a redemption from last year. I think I only saw one sale. This ended in a bidding war between 2 buyers.

I've been seeing this a lot lately, overcharging a lot for shipping.
leew051-5 - Charged me $6 CDN for shipping. He shipped a 180 pt Patch card in a Plain White Envelope. I have no idea how it didn't get rejected since it only had a $1 stamp on it. Took a month to get. I asked for a partial refund on the shipping, but he's ignored me. Will most likely leave a neutral.
josterceir-0 - Charged $7.65 CDN for shipping, just regular bubble. Left positive feedback anyways, well packed, arrived in a timely manner.
All accounts with less than 30-40 feedback left.
Also seeing a lot of crazy tape jobs on cards. I had one guy put the card in a top-loader, between 2 pieces of cardboard, and then tape completely with painters tape.

He used a plain white envelope to ship a patch card? WOW.
It's bad enough that he sent your PATCH card in a PWE, even worse that he charged you $6 so that he could send your card in that manner. Adding insult to injury he has decided to ignore you. Make sure you leave that guy a NEGATIVE, and state why in the feedback to warn others.
