    since new years
i have had covid, my wife, one son, one daughter son inlaw and a cousin and his family
we DID NOT all get together, each family caught it from co workers, friends etc.
ALL cases (with positive tests) have been minor inconveniences at worst.
just like a cold/flu. and of the twelve of us 8 are double vaxxed 2 single vaxxed and 2 unvaxxed.
me thinks our governments arent being completely open with their information
    get vaxxed or else.
yeah there no science to that we have proven the vaccine isnt working so now they are claiming
you will have a milder case so get vaxxed. i dont believe them.
athletes need to have lives too. they spent last year in a bubble.
and most states have relaxed their rules so why should the NHL up their rules. up their rules. (see what i did there)
players know the risk to themselves and their team and fans.
i havent heard about a single hockey player having a dire continuous physical reaction to anything EXCEPT the vaccine.
and just to keep this thread aboot the Leafs.
a couple years ago i thought Marner was better/more valuable, then Matthews
boy have i been proven wrong.
i also think Riellys game has gone backwards some.
Holl and Muzzin are third pairs at best
Brodie is getting on in age but is (IMO) the best DEFENSEman on the team.
Sandin is too small, useless in front of his own net, he does have some limited offensive abilities
(anybody can play the point on a powerplay) but he forgets a lot of the time that he is a defenseman.
Liljegren is a minor leaguer so i have nothing to say about him.
Dermott doesnt get used properly, more physical , should be more offensive minded like the others are. and should stay on the ice longer.
because of the coach he appears to have lost his confidence
but i still cheer for my Leafs like i have been doing for 60 years.
i wanna see them win again before i die but each year it seems like it aint gonna happen.
and yes chakhae1 i am the guy who was at MLG in 64 the night they won the cup with my dad
we had SRO tickets for those who dont know that means
standing room only. i was 8 and wanna be there again the next time they win
i hope i am not 88 when they do

Here's some D-Men that i would like to see the Leafs go after:

Jokiharju- Buffalo. Dont let his Stats fool you, he is a Solid D-Man who has played for some very weak teams

Butcher-Buffalo-Solid Guy & plays defense & reasonably priced

Ristolainen- Flyers- Big strong guy who Hits & fights & clears the front of the net. Again, dont look at the Stats, he has played for Buffalo. Has a tendency to take dumb penalties though

Dunn- Kraken-This guy had 12 Goals as a rookie & won a Cup with the Blues. Solid D-Man & reasonably priced. Only reason he is gone is because of Expansion. would luv this guy on our D!!

Now sure, i would luv to steal a guy like Seth Jones from the Hawks but we just cant afford a guy with a contract like that without giving up something significant so i think the guys i picked are the best we can afford right now. & most definitely an upgrade for some of the guys we have right now...

    Whatcha think??

What is Ristolainen's contract status? He has intrigued me since his days in Buffalo but didn't he sign a big ticket? Dunn is probably someone the Kraken will build their d around but the other two names are interesting.

Yeah i didnt look at Ristolainen's contract, i didnt think it would be that high but he makes 5.4 million per season for 6 years. I dont think he is worth that much!!
I am sure the 2 Buffalo guys could be had for the right trade & possibly even Dunn as well but i am sure we would have to overpay for them especially if the Leafs wait until the deadline to make a deal. I doubt either Buffalo or Seattle want our crappy d-Men for theirs lol. In order to make any deal like this we have to get rid of Muzzin's contract, other than Rielly he is our highest paid. Im not sure what Brodie makes, im sure its up there too. I still think if we package a Sandin with Muzzin we could get rid of his contract. I like Muzzin but he is much too slow now & makes alot of mistakes. He doesnt even really hit anymore cause he's not a fighter & now all big hits have to have a fight after it. I think thats so stupid, its Hockey, did you think you could carry around a dozen eggs & not get them broken. Its a contact sport. if you dont like contact go play golf!!
& Buffalo has 14 million in Cap space available too so they could easily take on Muzzin's contract..

Muzzin is good the dressing room I think and is one of those quiet leaders. Brodie has taken the lead as our best defensive d man and only him Rielly and Sandin are untouchables in my eyes. Most teams out there have questions on defence and only the elite teams like Tampa are sold 1-6. Another name that is out there is Klingberg, but he is no good defensively but could help our second unit PP. Then again our PP is clicking pretty good right now so no improvements needed there.

Thats crazy!! My wife is a Front Line Worker & has been working straight since this whole thing started & neither 1 of us has had it. Our Daughter just recently tested positive but she got it from her Boyfriend & his family so she is staying at they're house right now until she tests negative. She cant bring this home right now, we are living off my Wife's wages & savings at the moment. Other than that i only know 1 person who has had Covid. I think they have blown this way out of proportion. Lots of people are testing positive now & its Flu season. Notice nobody has had the Flu lately, just Covid!! Same as last year too!! Thank God for Covid, it took away the Flu!!

My take on Covid is that people that test positive are either around people a lot that are not being fully responsible or they are personally not fully responsible all the time. I understand that going through the practice of wearing a mask all the time when you are inside, washing your hands can be a chore for some people(dont ask me why since none of these things costs that much or takes a lot of effort or time) but until the world fully cooperates and thinks about those around us and themselves, this pandemic will honestly never end. My sister and my nephew tested positive with mild symptoms and they are super responsible so I am pretty sure that someone or someones they were around gave them the virus. My sister got tested and had follow up tested right away and told everyone she was around that she was positive. This should be common practice for anyone that has symptoms, but is it? A little goes a long way here and people need to get their heads out of their butts and take that extra effort and do what is right at the end of the day. Ok No more Covid talk for me!

The Leafs blew another lead and this is starting to get concerning. Marner seems to be back to his old self and that line looks really good and how no one has mentioned Mikheyev and his hot play of late is surprising, He is converting on his chances unlike the past and a 20 goal season even in his limited play this year is almost probable at this point. But who's soupy now since that's Campbell's nickname? lol.

Another blown lead tonight. Up 3-1 & we give up 5 straight goals!! With the exception of Rielly & Brodie our defence has been pathetic of late. How many more blown leads do we have to have before Dubas finally does something? We are giving away points that we will probably need before the season is over. If we go into the playoffs like this we will be gone in the 1st round once again!! This is so Frustrating!! I stopped watching when it got to 5-3 Rangers. I got better things to do than let the Leafs crappy D piss me off!! Absolutely Pathetic!! I have no faith in this team even when we have a 3-1 Lead..

I seen how much potential Mikheyev had in his first year with us. I have been snatching up his Good Rookies for next to nothing cause i knew he would be good. He has so much speed but he needed to get better with his shot & he seems to have done that now. Wait until they put him on line #1 or 2, he will score even more!! Whatever we're paying him its not enough!! I would like to see him with Marner & Matthews, the 3M line...

I could get behind that line...
