So, Mrazek is starting in net again tonight vs the Sabres tonight. Leafs trying to give Campbell some rest, (or are the Leafs Dangling Mrazek out there)? If Rest is the case then this would be the time to do it, our next 5-6 games are against teams who are .500 or worse. The Blue jackets are the best team we play in our next 6, although Phoenix & Vancouver have both beat us this year.
In our last 20 games of the Season we play the Bruins twice, Florida & Tampa 3 each, Capitals twice, Predators twice, Dallas twice & the Hurricanes once. The rest are under .500. That stretch for us will not only tell us where we are as a Team but where we will finish in the Rankings. I think we need at least the #2 Seed.
I noticed our final game of the season is against Boston this year. For as long as i can remember we usually end our season playing Montreal or Ottawa.Last edited by jameslacarte; 03-02-2022 at 02:17 PM.

Every team will have an unbalanced schedule so there will be a level playing field. Keefe needs to give Campbell a rest and prep him for the playoffs and ideally we will have two goalies playing well going down the stretch. We also have Hutton, who has experience, but I don't think we need another goalie as rumored on some networks.
I saw parts of the Jets/habs game last night and I remember last year a lot of people were saying the jets were favored to win the division uh no. They are sort of like the opposite oilers. Have an ace goalie on most nights, but the rest of their line up for whatever reason is lacking. Speaking of Oilers might miss the playoffs b/c their goaltending is so bad.

just watched the Leafs "in action" against the sabres.
all i can say is, why is it that Sandin can be on the ice for 4 goals against, directly responsible for at least two of them AND NEVER MISS A SHIFT.
Pat Quinn was coach Sandin would be glued to the bench for a week. he will learn nothing if they just keep putting him back on the ice.
he should miss the next game but i doubt it will happen. trade him to a non playoff team for a real D-man. or maybe have a leader on the team have a little sit down chat with.
him. kinda remind him he is a D-man, not a rover, this aint your beer league. man he even makes Holl look good

There's no one else to play other than Sandin. I am by no means a Sandin supporter but Leafs fans have had a history of bashing on d men regardless of how good or bad they are. Todd Gill and Larry Murphy are two examples in the past and benching Sandin will not make his game better. Like it or not he is one of our best prospects and he pretty much has to play and learn the NHL game if he is to improve.
That being said the Leafs were terrible and no one showed up. Let's hope this is just an example of playing down to the competition but if this team has aspirations of being elite, that should never happen.

He was horrible again tonight. 3 of the Sabres Goals i put on Sandin. Good thing he scored a goal lol. Its like having a crappier version of Jake Gardiner & thats saying something. I would have traded both Sandin & Liljegren before the rest of the League knew they were garbage too but i think the Cats out of the Bag now. I thought maybe if Sandin got away from Liljegren he might not be so bad but tonight proved that theory horribly wrong!! 2 more wasted 1st round picks!!

Yea hindsight. Most teams make these mistakes now and then.

wait and see who they give up for a rental player this year.
most teams overpay this time of year
they need those extra home playoff dates to make the $$$ they need to throw away on past their prime "star"
guys like Thornton and Marleau who would get by mostly on reputation now.
playoff time - you need bangers

I wonder what Leafs team we will see tonight? How bad will our defence be tonight? Vancouver might not be a playoff team but they will make us look bad in a hurry if we play like we did last game. Until the Leafs address these defensive issues we've been having the last month or so we are not going very far again this year. We wont beat Tampa with this team. We cant even beat Buffalo!!

Gotta luv these Habs fans with nothing better to do because they're Loser Team sucks. I dont even have to read it i know exactly what it says though even if i didnt i couldnt be bothered wasting my time especially since where its coming from.
Hey Piper, go look & see how many goals Corey Perry has or Phil Danault or Kotkaniemi since they left that loser team of yours. This Happens to every team in the League except Montreal because nobody good wants to play there anyways lol. Should go check Barabanov's stats too, Leafs let him leave as well. Maybe that will give you something to do since there's no hockey in Montreal or Ottawa this year, well, none worth watching anyways..
