I tried to use the card inventory, but get an error message. I just gave up on the whole site, not to mention that the message boards are hard to find.

i just tried it, and they had very few cards listed. So i guess its actually not the best idea. sorry
another option would be to use the tuff stuff guide. as it is free...... If everyone used that, then it would work just fine.

I'm kind of happy with the Beckett change. If it never changed, I would not have known about Sports Card Forum. I pretty much just used the Beckett site to read the message boards, and to be honest, in the past few weeks that I've been posting and reading posts, I've noticed the people here to be very, very friendly; at Beckett, it's just not the case. I'm like many others in that I just don't feel like going through several tutorials to learn how to use a website. After reading a few days worth of the thread on the new Beckett discuss forum where a Beckett employee showed little regard for forum users and customers, it became clear to me that I was better off not wasting my time. It's a shame, really. I used to like Beckett (read the magazine since the mid-to-late 80s), but after the changes to the magazine and then the website (and then to show little regard for the concerns of message board users and readers), I just feel like I'd rather spend time and money on other websites and magazines.
Like I said, the silver lining is that I found Sports Card Forum, and it is a very friendly place. I appreciate that very much!

I dont think they could have made it any less user friendly. The site is just horrible now. My Collection is completely worthless now.
If they dont add the 'total value' back to the site my days of casual pack buying are done.[-- 1266 Total -- Hidden Content Cards --]
Hidden Content , Also collect: NY Yankees, NY Giants, LeBron James, Shaquille O'Neal

In retaliation to Beckett's site, I have created my own website now called tomahawkcards.com so I can migrate my Beckett collection to it. In the future (and until my subscription runs out) I will only use it for gauging pricing for trading value.
Beckett actually has it set up so that you can't include your collections as signature for other boards- like this one... Also there is no way for me to print out a hard copy of my collection in the form of a data base for inventory in case the website spontaneously combusts.

beckett lost me as a follower about 6 years ago when they stopped listing a bunch of sets in the magazine.....they basically cut out 70% of all the cards previously listed...

Looks like I'm a little behind in the discussion... but I went through the same pain as everyone else waiting & waiting for my collections to move over. When they finally did... it became abundantly clear just how idiotic the Beckett.com folks were in this new site design. COME ON!! They just opened the doors to anyone who wants to replace them in the marketplace. Should Krause want to, they can now pounce on Beckett's dominant market position in the world of Sports Cards & replace them entirely should they want to. To that end, I really applaud the SCF crew for partnering with Tuff Stuff... you chose wisely friends!!
I was one of those causual users of the OPG system to try to organize & price my collection... and now it's just too painful to use their new system... so I have to abandon it and revert back to Microsoft Excel. For full disclosure, I am a Microsoft employee... but Office 2007's Excel is much better for this compared with older versions. It's a little easier now that the row limits are virtually gone & a lot more macros are built in. What'd be really cool is if Tuff Stuff could come out with what Beckett.com used to have... a fairly easy to use online price guide that interfaces with Excel... free to use for collection organizing... and a small fee is fair for those that want built in pricing.
I don't know about the rest of you... but $6/mo for a garbage system and only one sport is a total rip off... I sure hope that someone from Beckett is reading all this feedback on SCF... and if not, I hope one of the moderators takes this and tries to get them to hear it.
Even better... maybe SCF can expand their partnership with TuffStuff & move into the OPG world too? ;-)

Beckett definitely dropped the ball on this one. Who introduces a new site design when it's not ready and full of errors? It's really unbelievable how bad they actually messed up the changeover. What was the big hurry? I've been sticking with them though and checking the site out a little bit. I added 77 graded cards in My Organize and it actually looks like the site will be pretty good once it's fully functional, but the shape it's in now and the terribly slow speed they are going at fixing it is really just horrible. It's disgusting and it is definitely going to cost them customers and members. Who's running that monkey farm!
