I don't have issue with other people drinking until it gets to addiction or drunkeness.
as for what others do, I care about the salvation of everyone. I don't push it on people because I think that is counter-productive but I will always want people to live moral lives.

but then why do you care if somebody casually smokes herb if they aren't addicted?
as far as a moral life, whats that mean? I'm not sure what the salvation of everyone is, but I guess that has something to do with accepting Jesus?

My questions were simple
1. All the big stories in the bible why are they only in the bible? A cave man gets killed it's drawn on 100 cave walls
2. If god is all mighty why didn't he just defeat the devil then there would be no evil?
3. If jesus was real and leads people what makes his story true when everyone else who says they are a god or has followers is called a cult leader?
4. Where is the proof of the stories in the bible and why does the bible change?
5. What happened to people when they died before Christ?
6. why is the bible stolen from aspects of other religions? From the virgin birth to Christmas day(when a lot of people believe christ was born in summer)?
7. There is scientific explenations for most of the "amazing" stories in the bible how can that be overlooked and blown off.
My final question was "since your life revolves around a book with no evidence of it being true would you be worshiping Robin Hood if it was writen before the bible?"
That's when I was told I was going to hell.. Best part was I worked at at store and waited on the Priest when he came in and bought Cigs and Scratch off Lotto tickets..

my issue with the casual use of drugs is probably 2-fold. I think that it can lead to addiction and it can lead to other people in your life being harmed by the use of it (though not as common as alcohol) physically, mentally, financially, etc. That isn't a condemnation of of all who use it.
Also, for now anyway, it is illegal and thus should not be allowed.
As for the moral life. I wasn't raised in the church so I know a little about living life without God. Not only am I thankful for Jesus and thus want to live a life that shows my gratitude for him, I also have found that living this life is preferable to living one seeking various pleasures.
And yes, I would love if everyone I knew accepted Jesus but only if that was their choice.

1. All the big stories in the bible why are they only in the bible? A cave man gets killed it's drawn on 100 cave walls:
Because the writers of the bible made a concerted effort to compile their writings into one place. Also, especially given the New testament books, there are numerous copies thus showing that they were spread throughout the world at the time.
2. If god is all mighty why didn't he just defeat the devil then there would be no evil?
This is really the crux of Christianity. The answer is he doesn't do it for us. Everyone of us is given the freedom to do as we please. As you can tell through reading through the "politics and religion" section, there are numerous people who don't believe in God and even a few that are angry at the thought of him. If God removed evil from the world, the he begins to take away free will. He begins to step in and control what goes on here and in our lives.
3. If jesus was real and leads people what makes his story true when everyone else who says they are a god or has followers is called a cult leader?
The answer to this is based purely on faith. If you believe what the bible says about him, then he is the Son of God. Trust me, most of the Romans and Jews at the time thought he was just a nutcase.
4. Where is the proof of the stories in the bible and why does the bible change? Some things in the bible there is truth to. Others you believe because of what has been passed down for 1000's of years. The rest, I am thankful that there is no proof. Faith ceases to be faith when you can proof God in modern terms. And the proof of the bible is in people's lives. Given my life and what God has done for me in my life, I have my proof that it is true. The things in the bible change for different reasons. Some cultural, some because God is responding to the changes of man. Mostly because Jesus' death changed everything.
5. What happened to people when they died before Christ?
Before Christ, God's chosen people were the Jews. Therefore, they were bound by standards and requirements that were outside of Jesus.
6. why is the bible stolen from aspects of other religions? From the virgin birth to Christmas day(when a lot of people believe christ was born in summer)?
This question is a little acusatorial. You could have just said the stories are found elsewhere.
The answer to some is that wouldn't you think something like the great flood would be accounted elsewhere as well? Also, people for all time have tried to make great stories their own. As for Christmas day, the date was chosen at a time when Christians were people persecuted and killed. They therefore chose a day that coincided with a pagan holiday so as to blend in and not get killed.
7. There is scientific explenations for most of the "amazing" stories in the bible how can that be overlooked and blown off.
which stories are you referring to? And for what's it's worth, it doesn't bother me that there are explanations for things. God doesn't need to only work through miracles.
My final question was "since your life revolves around a book with no evidence of it being true would you be worshiping Robin Hood if it was writen before the bible?"
The easy answer is that robin hood never claimed to be the son of God! Also, just because there is no "scientific" proof of God, doesn't mean there is no evidence of the Bible being true.
Also, just to reiterate, I am sorry for the way your priest handled things. More damage has been done to peoples belief in God by people who claim to follow him than anything else. I think asking questions is good. i know I still ask a ton! Hopefully I answered some. I'm sure some might not close the book on the question but feel free to ask for clarification or more detail if needed. Thanks man!

I honestly don't know where I end up on the subject. I don't have any moral opposition there being aliens. As for the Heaven thing, I guess it would depend on whether they had souls or not.

What if Christianity is wrong? What if Hinduism is the religion that is correct?

then I would be wrong! lol
It ultimately comes down to what you believe and what you put your faith in. I have looked at most of the various religions and nothing has led me to doubt my faith in Christianity.

In that case, aren't we all just hoping for good luck when it comes to our salvation? Other religions have just as much "evidence" of being right as Christianity.
