Try living in rural Oregon. They're aplenty.

What company makes them? All I see around here, and I live in a farming town in Texas, are 3/4 ton and 1 ton diesel.

i love how throughout this entire debate, the ones opposed to guns, refuse to address the 2 posts dealing with the enviromental and social benefit of hunting.

I am with you on this one. The deer population has grown dramatically over the last few years and I truely believe that the only way to control this (without releasing a large number of coyotes or some other weird measure) is by shooting them. The states do a pretty decent job of issueing permits based on annual counts of the population. I even believe they could issue more tags per hunter here in Iowa! The number of does with 2 faunts I have seen this year and previous years is just astonishing!
I am not a hunter and do believe in a lot stricter gun control (limit the number of fire arms per person, kind of fire arms etc) but hunting has so many benefits that it should not be banned!!

O yeah, and at least hunting give the animal a chance to run away or something. Try going to a slaughter house and see how they kill the animals.

It has been proven that half-ton diesels are "wasted" the most. 3/4 ton and 1 tons are used more productively, which is why I used the 1/2 example. Why are you directing the discussion to the weight of trucks?

I've just never heard of a 1/2 ton diesel, I was just curious. I'm not trying to say your statement was wrong. I got off-topic. My bad.

It's fine. Hell, I could even be wrong, maybe it's 3/4, but I'm pretty sure I remember reading 1/2. I live in a town where everyone wears cowboy hats and drives these things for leisure only. You can imagine the turnout at the Obama rally here... it was very easy to get in.

I think any use of guns is wrong. Period. What's nasty is the fact that, because of the pollution of guns, peolple sometimes have to use them. In this instance, however, I believe that evolution would have worked it out. Each species of animal is on this earth for one reason: because they survived. We can do so without guns. I have a very rare view when it comes to these matters, though.

wow. i said I was done and I am. the fact that you are ok with children being killed and we were wrong for stepping in tells me that I need to bow out of this conversation.

Yeah there are a ton of diesels here. I'm actually getting one in january. Try hauling 1000 gallons of water plus the weight of the trailer (totals about 10,500 lbs) with a half-ton gas. Not easy.

We need to do whatever it takes to protect our children, and ourselves. If that means guns then so be it.
